Went here to meet Dr. Patel I was having GI issues. Everything was okay for a while and I got a colonoscopy/endoscopy. Little things were frustrating like being told things would be put in my chart but never receiving any login and I always felt a little rushed. After that everything went downhill. I have received bills left and right that were not explained to me clearly before the procedure, they told me I’m behind on payments when I set automatic payments up. When I finally called they said their online billing system has been down for two months. Nobody contacted me. The results were explained to me but very inconclusive. We determined next steps and the insurance denied my medication. Nobody contacted me and I actually found out from my pharmacy. I had to contact them to see if they would appeal. They said it would take a while. This was in Feb and I haven’t heard from the office since. No follow up, no contact, nothing. Just paid thousands of dollars to them and I have to find a new doctor because I don’t feel I got appropriate attention and care.

The doctors are nice, but you'll NEVER get through to anyone on the phone. Need to talk to a human? I hope you have hours to listen to their hold music that continually tells you to go back to the (useless) website.

I decided to get care elsewhere after my initial visit and had to cancel a procedure. There’s something sketchy about their billing policies for procedures. Be aware if you have over a $1.5K deductible they consider it high deductible and none of their paperwork they give you about billing says anything about paying for the entire procedure cost upfront nor a $250 deposit if you haven’t paid $500 of your deductible. Billing always goes through insurance if you are in-network and don’t have co-pay required regardless if you’ve met your deductible or not so something is off about this place.

I came to see Dr. Daksesh Patel for help, and treatment and that is not what I received at this practice. This is the reason that you go to any doctor, but sadly not all standards are the same and in this day and age I refuse to accept this from a new doctor that I see. I called several days after my appointment in an attempt to get my lab results, but after two attempts I just stopped because I never received phone calls back. Also while I can understand things get busy why would this office have an online portal for patients if they can't even upload the results to be viewed? I then decided it would be best to reach out to the labs directly which turned out to be much more effective. I have never once had to do this before because an office has always given the patient the courtesy of a callback. The issues at this practice only got worse after this point. I was still suffering from the original issues that I went in for and I relayed this to staff and never once did Dr. Patel even attempt to communicate with me over this. Also, the staff says the patient portal is the best way to communicate with the doctor but it's not monitored because I didn't get any type of response on my first message sent. When I conveyed these issues to the staff I was informed that they are busy and short-staffed. I refuse to accept this kind of treatment from any doctor's office and will look elsewhere. In a city as large as Chicago there is no shortage of good doctors who actually want to help their patients and take what they have seriously. Update: I received an unwarranted call from the office manager who had a very bad attitude. The Office manager, I believe her name was Christine, said that my information was untrue. Nonetheless I was not going to argue with her so I ask that this office stops contacting me as I am no longer a patient. I also told the nurse this as well, but apparently the message isn't getting across. GI alliance has numerous poor reviews on multiple platforms and my only regret is not listening to them prior to coming here. Please head the reviews and due your due diligence. This is starting to feel like they are trying to retaliate against me as a patient for a bad experience that they put me through.

I called the office yesterday, July 23 at 9:37 AM after not getting through. I decided to call back and use the text back mode. I still have not heard anything from this office on July 24 at 12:11 PM. Horrible service and I used to do this for a living and it is unacceptable. I have since made an appointment with a different group who are very accommodating.
