I’ve been so happy with goldfish swim school! This location is full of very kind and sweet coaches. They have so much patience.y son has been going since 2023. He started as a parent and baby swim. When he was transferred to an independent class without parent it was very hard for him to adjust. Any child gets scared with changes. They advise to keep out of sight until he got used to it. That could be heart aching for us parents but it builds children’s independence. After 6 weeks he adjusted and didn’t cried. Now I can sit back and watch him enjoy his class time. I’m grateful for the coaches there who love my son and the recognition my son gets it’s very admirable! I highly recommend taking you kids here

We had an assessment class for our toddler today at J1. Our son is not a complete beginner - he’s been taking swim classes at different pools since he was 3 months old. Still, as a 3-year-old, he can naturally feel a little shy in a new environment. When we arrived, he was very excited to get in the pool. However, once he got to his lane, everything changed. I had mentioned to the instructor, Mackenna B, that he might feel shy with new teachers. Despite this, after I left, he stood there for several minutes completely ignored. There were two instructors with only 4 children, but no effort was made to engage him, break the ice, or help him feel comfortable. When instructor Mackenna finally approached him, she pulled him straight into the water without trying to ease him in, which only made him more tense and uncomfortable. We were watching, and it was obvious he wasn’t enjoying the experience - at one point, he was even on the verge of tears. Yet he was left disengaged for much of the class. It’s difficult to see the purpose of an assessment class if instructors don’t take time to understand a child’s abilities or temperament. To be fair, the other instructor (whose name I unfortunately don’t recall) seemed friendlier, while Mackenna came across as unnecessarily harsh. We also observed another instructor in a different lane who had a much better approach - he gently encouraged a hesitant child, played in the water, and took the time to build trust. That’s exactly the kind of patience and sensitivity toddlers need at this age. One negative experience can be enough to discourage a child, and sadly that’s what happened here. Our son went from being excited about trying out this class to saying he doesn’t want to go back. The bottom line is, based on our experience, I do not recommend this school for the toddler program. And if you do end up here, be very selective about which instructors you choose, as the experience can vary greatly depending on who is leading the class.

Goldfish swim Roscoe village on Bradley place is awesome! My daughter and I have been going for a little over a month, and she really loves it! She can’t wait to see “bubbles” the fish each week. I was a little confused on how to use the app at first, but Anna at the front desk was SO helpful! We love it. Signup process is simple, easy to reschedule, and everyone that works there is so kind!

We’ve LOVED our time at Goldfish Swim School in Roscoe Village. From the sales and service team to the swim instructors, everyone is so friendly, warm, and professional. We had a not so positive experience with park district classes and wanted our kiddo to love water and swim. Before coming to Goldfish, our preschooler was hesitant to be in the water without us, put her face in the water, or even hold onto the pool ledge. At our first lesson, Ariana (manager) went above and beyond to make our nervous little one comfortable and invited. Coach David (instructor) has been friendly, patient, and kind with her. After just one lesson, she started to show more confidence, interest, and excitement in the pool. We are over a month in and are having the best time being a part of Goldfish! We recently attended a Family Swim where our little was SO thrilled about showing us all of skills she works on weekly. I was originally hesitant to register for classes because of the price. If you're on the fence- DO IT! The price is totally worth it- incredible staff, clear expectations, welcoming environment, AMAZING instructors, and developmentally-appropriate curriculum/lessons. 100% worth every penny to inspire a love of swimming and give your kiddo a skill that could save their life.

This is not for busy parents, In our case, our work schedule changed at the last minute, we pay 2 lessons in arrow, which means same day, if we need to leave to work we loose around $ 60 per 2 classes, the person said that you need to call before to say that cannot take the classes. In my case, I don't know the future to anticipate that I can not be there. If I found another school with flexible makeup classes will update once I have the info...
