I wish I could give a no star review. The manager, her name is Jennifer, she is one of the rudest , disrespectful and unprofessional managers I’ve ever came across. I honestly don’t know how she’s even a manager. I took my toddler with me as honestly it was my first time going there. I was really excited about a new experience in thrift shopping. I wasn’t aware that kids under 12 are not allowed but it was definitely brought to my attention by the manager Jennifer, yelling at me telling me to get out now or she was going to call security. She made a whole scene that even made my toddler cry hysterically. She was rude and disrespectful yelling. Never again.

Management, I visit your store often and truly enjoy shopping here because I always find great items. However, I feel it’s important to bring up an ongoing concern regarding one of your employees, Kelly, the girl with glasses and short hair. She consistently displays a negative attitude toward customers and communicates in an unprofessional, overly harsh manner. On multiple occasions, I’ve witnessed her speaking rudely and raising her voice without reasonable cause. Recently, she yelled at me for not getting to the register quickly enough, despite there being only one person behind me. We’re all human beings, and everyone deserves to be treated with courtesy and respect. I strongly believe Kelly could benefit from a conversation with management to address her behavior and reinforce the importance of professional, respectful customer service. Thank you for taking this seriously.

Make sure to not take your eye off your basket. If someone sees you find a gem. The feel entitled and will jack you for it if you look away for a 2nd. Ugly...we ate all in their sweating and digging for amazing finds..

They are putting these huge boxes where people can't even put their hand in, even really tall people can't look in those boxes, people are putting themselves in danger by standing on anything to look inside those boxes, I'm going to report this to wherever it needs to be reported. It's ridiculous that they think people are going to take things out of those boxes.

I love the selection and rotations at this store, I actually find the staff to be pleasant and hard working, trying to accomodate so many people can be challenging however I’ve been super impressed with Tamara the shift leader on several occasions with her ability to seemlesly run things so everyone can enjoy the experience. It’s a fun day if you go prepared and hydrate! It can be hot.

Why is the Goodwill Clearance Center perfect for a group meetup?

The Goodwill Clearance Center is ideal for group meetups because it offers a blend of affordability, adventure, and social engagement that few places can match. Since items are sold by the pound, it allows everyone in the group to indulge their curiosity without worrying about breaking a budget, making it accessible for all ages and spending limits. It encourages teamwork and collective problem-solving as friends can help each other spot worthwhile items or negotiate the chaos of sifting through large bins. The store’s layout and atmosphere support casual conversation and movement, so groups can spread out, explore different sections, and regroup to share discoveries. Moreover, the unpredictability of inventory means every visit is fresh and exciting, giving groups new reasons to return regularly. The Goodwill Clearance Center also carries the positive essence of sustainability and charity, which adds a feel-good aspect to your social outing, making it more than just shopping—it's a shared experience with purpose. Compared to typical venues, this place offers a lively, interactive environment where the fun comes from discovery, variety, and doing good, making it perfect for bonding activities with friends or family.

How does the pricing and shopping style enhance the group experience?

The unique pricing method at the Goodwill Clearance Center—selling items by the pound—adds a layer of excitement and strategy for groups meeting there. Instead of fixed prices for each item, shoppers pay based on the total weight of their chosen goods, which motivates participants to carefully consider what they pick up. This unusual model sparks lively discussions and playful debates about what’s worth the weight and how to maximize value. It also levels the playing field for everyone, since bargain hunters and casual shoppers alike can find affordable items within their means. The shopping style encourages a less structured, more exploratory approach where members can split up to cover different bins or categories and then regroup to share their haul, creating a dynamic and engaging social environment. Additionally, since new shipments and bins rotate frequently, groups can plan outings around these restocks to maximize their chances at scoring great deals together, turning the visit into a well-timed event. This weight-based pricing and the treasure hunt style of shopping foster teamwork, sharing, and collective excitement—ideal ingredients for a memorable group outing.

What practical tips can make your group meetup smoother and more enjoyable?

To fully enjoy a group outing at the Goodwill Clearance Center, some practical preparation goes a long way. Since items are sold as-is with no returns, it’s wise for group members to bring along a couple of essentials: gloves for safe bin rummaging, sturdy bags or plastic totes to hold finds, and perhaps a wheeled cart if you plan to shop largely. Planning to arrive early can increase your chances of getting fresh bins and the widest selection before the rush begins, giving your group a competitive edge. It’s also helpful to coordinate so each person or pair targets different sections, maximizing efficiency and variety in the items you discover. Be prepared for a hands-on, somewhat messy experience—sorting through bins can be chaotic but that’s part of the thrill and fun. Since there are no shopping bags provided, bringing your own containers not only makes carrying easier but also environmentally friendly. Lastly, setting a rough time frame can help maintain group energy and engagement; spending at least an hour ensures enough time to explore thoroughly without feeling rushed. These tips help the group experience be more organized, comfortable, and ultimately more rewarding.

How can you make the most out of the finds from your Goodwill Clearance Center visit?

Once your group has gathered their finds, the fun continues in exploring creative ways to use or repurpose purchased items. Many shoppers use their haul as a springboard for DIY projects, upcycling old furniture, refreshing wardrobes with vintage pieces, or curating themed gift baskets for future occasions. Sharing ideas on how to clean, repair, or style your new treasures can deepen the social aspect and encourage collaboration beyond the store. Additionally, if some members have discovered items of potential value, groups can discuss resale opportunities on platforms like eBay or local marketplaces, turning the outing into both a fun and potentially profitable venture. Organizing a follow-up meetup centered around crafting or trading items found during your visit can extend the enjoyment and strengthen friendships. This after-shopping engagement transforms simple clearance shopping into an ongoing shared hobby, making the Goodwill Clearance Center not just a place to shop, but a catalyst for creativity and connection.

Its focus on diverting donated goods from waste streams imbues outings here with an environmentally conscious mindset uncommon in typical social settings. The excitement challenged by searching through varied and ever-changing bins of merchandise introduces a game-like vibe that keeps everyone actively engaged and entertained throughout the visit. This venue appeals to those who enjoy hands-on activities, value-oriented shopping, and the unexpected pleasure of unearthing treasures tucked among everyday items. What are some insider tips to maximize your group’s success at the Goodwill Clearance Center?

To truly make the most of your visit as a group, it helps to strategize certain insider tips. Aim to arrive at the start of business hours when fresh bins are typically rolled out, increasing the likelihood of finding valuable or desirable items before they are picked over. Encourage everyone to wear comfortable clothing and gloves to dig through bins with ease and safety. Bring your own bags or containers because the store does not provide shopping bags, and consider packing snacks and water to stay energized during potentially lengthy searches. Divide bin sections among group members or assign specific categories by interest to cover more ground efficiently.
