It’s a grocery store! It’s a fish and produce market! It’s a gift shop! It’s a restaurant and bakery. Yup, Grand Asia Market, on Buck Jones Road in Cary has it all. I just moved to the Triangle area two years ago, and I was excited by the great variety of cuisines and cultures in this area. Grand Asia Market is a terrific spot to take it all in. If you ever need any Asian ingredients for your cooking at home… or if you want to eat or taste real Asian dishes in a super-casual spot… this is the place to come. Apparently their first storefront featured 7,500 square feet of retail space, but that has now grown to 30,000 square feet. It’s the size of a medium-sized supermarket. They carry thousands of fresh and dry products from countries such as China, Japan, India, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. You can get all sorts of exotic produce and spices, dozens of different frozen dim sum and dumplings, meat and seafood, you name it. There’s also a Hong Kong inspired bakery with goodies freshly baked every day of the week. The bakery also offers made-with-real-fruit smoothies or fresh milk tea. You can also and add some bubbles (tapioca pearls) or various other toppings for a drink that doubles as a snack. The counter-service restaurant has many standard American-Chinese dishes, but also more unusual items for the adventurous. Two of my favorites are the Wonton Soup and the House Fried Rice. Please see my photos for close up shots of these two items. The hours appear to be Open 365 Days a Year, 10AM to 6PM, but I cannot promise that is correct, so call ahead 919-468-2988.

This place has everything you need, and more, at great prices. Local NC free-range eggs for under $4? That alone makes the trip worth it. The pre-made dumpling selection is fantastic, and the à la carte Asian dishes are a must-try. Only downside: the grocery carts are a bit worn and can feel bulky in the narrow aisles on busy days. But that won’t stop us—we’ll definitely be back!

I love coming here to this grand Asian market!! I come here all the time they have so many interesting things!! They have also a inside bakery and their bread that they have is very, very good. Always excited to get some when I go!! Only complain, I do have is that the aisles are very small so most of the time it’s always busy!! But other than that, it is a great place to shop!

Great selection of produce, noodles and sauces, basically anything you need for Asian cooking, including pots, pans and dishes. The buns in the bakery are amazing. We also got a strawberry cake there and it was absolutely delicious. Not very sweet, just perfect
