Grandeur is super popular for a reason. Plan to get there early for parking or try something different and climb it in the evening. Sunset views on the Wasatch would be nice but anytime has good views.

West side is steep, got black toe coming down. Lots of snow still on top. Beautiful day to hike

Beautiful hike to the top of Grandeur Peak, the flowers and vegetation were beautiful. The 1st mile is nice because you’re in shade meandering through trees and the small creek is running by you. There are some steep sections after the lookout going up to the peak, that is it in with the last half a mile. It’s nice on odd days because you can have your dog off leash and mine had a blast playing in the stream and hiking.

Fantastic hike! But several of us did the ascent from the west side off Wasatch Blvd, and that is a VERY hard ascent route. 3,200 feet in elevation gain in two miles. You best be in very good to excellent shape to handle the west ascent. Some others in our hiking club went up the east route from Millcreek Canyon - Church Fork. Everyone did the east route for the descent. Good day, fun time, simply lovely and charming group of hikers. Can't wait to spend more time with them. ☺️

Beautiful trail, short with lots of elevation, shady for the most part with stunning views, especially with the autumn's folliage, there are some spots for scrambling and free climbing off trails.
