Pretty hit dirring the day and I dont trust the water fountain so bring plenty of sun protection, and maybe a chair: middle court has no bench. I also play basketball here. Slanted court but nice vibes.

I grew up two blocks down from this park on Russell Street. It is located on MLK Drive (originally named "Grove Street)." While the lighting technology has definitely changed the whole flavor of the park is pretty much the same it's a community park where people can go play tennis and b-ball.

For those interested in a unique experience, Grove Park boasts some of the region’s few public grass tennis courts available seasonally between June and September, offering a softer surface and traditional lawn tennis feel. This variety of options enables groups to try different games or rotate between courts, keeping everyone engaged throughout their visit. Additionally, court rentals for grass surfaces are available, allowing small to medium-sized groups to reserve exclusive playtime for private events or friendly tournaments.

However, even without membership, many courts are available free of charge during set hours—typically midday to early evening—allowing casual players or tourists to enjoy the facilities without upfront commitment. For those interested in exclusive or guaranteed playing slots, especially on the popular grass courts, hourly reservations are available, allowing groups to secure dedicated space for tournaments or special social events.
