Fun cheerful colorful place. I liked the ambiance more than I liked the food. But the food was interesting. ... unfortunately the only mole was on the chips, which were good 👍 5/5. Great place tho for drinks and meetups with friends...big parties easily accomplated...theres a big stage for live music....an extensive bar area. This place was made for fun...there's also a livelyal fresco dining area but it was closed to diners on a weekday afternoon. Lots of selfie opportunities and lots of lovely artwork and wall murals. Very festive. I'd love to come back and try other items on the menu. I enjoyed my chile relleno two ways, cheese and chicken 4/5 but the white rice 2/5 was too salty, tho i realize salt content is subjective... my companion got the tamale, which was enormous but no mole except dribbled on the husk....and he found it kinda mushy. Still the atmosphere was so pleasant, we will be back.

We decided to throw a surprise birthday dinner for our dear friend at Guelaguetza, and from the moment we arrived, the experience was absolutely beautiful. Valet parking welcomed us with a big smile and warm energy, instantly setting the tone for the night. At the front door, Violetta greeted us with genuine joy and walked us to our table while sharing a little bit of the rich history behind the restaurant—which made us feel even more connected to the space. Our server, Jose, was phenomenal. He patiently explained the ingredients in each dish, highlighted house specialties, and made sure every question was answered with care. His passion for the food and the culture behind it truly elevated our meal. To top it all off, they surprised our friend with a tres leches birthday cake, which made the moment unforgettable. It was the perfect touch of sweetness and celebration. Thank you to the entire Guelaguetza team for making this birthday dinner so special. We’ll definitely be back!

Mole was solid. Chips and cheese with mole on it before your meal is really good also. Service is not top notch, but I don’t think they prioritize it here. Servers are very friendly though and ambiance is fantastic, it’s just they have servers spread rather thin. It’s just the nature of the restaurant and service isn’t their priority. More of a volume business. Food is food overall and prices are reasonable.

I used to love coming to Guelaguetza pretty much every time I had an event in LA, but things have changed. For one, the main draw for me was the caldo de pollo, and apparently, they changed the menu and don't serve any soups at all, so I don't really have a reason to go any more. The meats have changed since the last time I went, too; my daughter said that she couldn't find the exact same street tacos she ordered last time, and that this time she was served a different type of meat in them (she ordered what looked to be the closest to what she wanted). Luckily, the champurrado doesn't seem to have changed, at least. I've tried the mole in the past and enjoyed it, so you can't go wrong if you want delicious Oaxacan mole, but that's not why I liked eating there. The service is so-so. They take a while to come back and check on you or bring the bill. I do like the atmosphere and the live music, but that's not really enough to get me to come back for zero soups and valet parking. I saw another reviewer say that they had new management. If that's the case, please go back to what worked and what people loved about Guelaguetza, the old menu! Especially, please bring back the sopas, mainly the caldo de pollo! ♥
