If you’re a true BBQ lover, Hometown is a must-visit. The atmosphere is laid-back and welcoming. Everything we tried was delicious, one of my favorites was the brisket, it was incredibly tender. The mac and cheese was creamy and rich. Service was friendly and quick and the staff was very professional and friendly. They accommodated our party of 8 inside the restaurant since it was about 92 degrees outside. Highly recommend them for lunch or dinner.

Hometown Barbecue! From the moment I walked in, the aroma of smoked meats set the tone for what turned out to be a fantastic meal. The brisket was absolutely delicious—tender, juicy, and packed with flavor, especially when paired with their homemade barbecue sauce. The pulled pork was equally impressive, bursting with smoky goodness in every bite. A highlight of our visit was the complementary cornbread—warm, moist, and perfectly drizzled with honey and sprinkled with salt chunks. It was an unexpectedly perfect balance of sweet and savory that made a lasting impression. To wash it all down, we had their sweetened tea and a refreshing mineral water, which paired well with the richness of the meats. One of the friendly staff members mentioned they also have a location in Brooklyn, which I’ll definitely be checking out next. All in all, Hometown Barbecue delivered on flavor, hospitality, and atmosphere. Highly recommend for any barbecue lover!

If you’re craving real smoky BBQ in Miami, this is the spot. We ordered the beef rib and brisket, and both were cooked to perfection, tender, and melted in your mouth with every bite. We also tried the turkey, which was very moist and delicious, holding its flavor beautifully. The cornbread had a sweet and salty taste, easily one of the best I’ve had in a long time, and the mac and cheese had a nice consistency, creamy without being heavy. The vibe is laid-back and welcoming, making it perfect for a casual meal that still feels like a treat. If you love BBQ, Hometown BBQ is a must in Miami.

I’ve heard such great things about this place I decided to stop by on my lunch. My 1st impression was the flies buzzing around the tables, that was a big turn off. I almost left but decided to stay and give this place a shot. I ordered six wings and potatoes salad. It came up to $25 bucks which I thought was a bit pricey but I heard this place was good so I was willing to spend it. I’m not a big fan of mayo so I’m usually careful when I order potato salad. It was a creamy potatoe salad, no potatoe chunks, it had bits of onion, and it had a very vinegary flavor. Not bad but not my style. The wings were good, I got the bbq flavor the other flavor choices were buffalo sauce and mole dust served with cilantro, queso fresco and poblano crema. They had sauces available on the table hot & bbq. They were both very good. The best part of my meal was the drink 🍹 😋 The bartender was Jason and he was very knowledgeable about the drinks I asked a few questions and decided to get the cucumber margarita. It came with a long, thin slice of cucumber 🥒 and a lime 🍋‍🟩 I think that was the best margarita I’ve ever had. And even tho I I arrived a little before 3 Jason was cool enough to give me the happy hour price. Even tho I liked the food and drink and the servers were very polite I definitely won’t be returning bc of the flies and gnats. I was fighting them off from every direction. They were buzzing around my food and drink. They landed on the side of my plate and napkin a few times nd even on me. I wasn’t able to finish the potato salad bc a fly landed on it. Not around the side of the cup but on the actual food. I would’ve stayed and got a few more drinks but the flies and gnats literally pushed me out the door. Idk if it’s always like that or if maybe they had a delivery and the door was left open but I definitely will not be returning bc of the flying insect problem. I would recommend this place but definitely bring a fly swatter and some extra napkins or baby wipes if you get the bbq. Check me out on IG or TT MyNameIsRose 🌹

Why is the food at Hometown Barbecue a highlight of any group outing?

One of the biggest draws for groups meeting at Hometown Barbecue is undeniably the food. This restaurant is celebrated for its signature smoked meats, especially the brisket which is frequently described as rich, peppery, and packed with deep smoky flavor. Unlike many BBQ joints, Hometown takes pride in its attention to seasoning and smoke application, ensuring that the meat remains moist yet tender with a satisfying chew. The brisket alone is legendary among regulars and experts alike, often recommended as a must-order item for any gathering.

Beyond brisket, the diverse meat selection is a treat for groups with varied tastes: pastrami bacon, Korean-inspired ribs glazed with sticky gochujang sauce, and homemade sausages provide unique flavor profiles—and all are optimized for sharing. The turkey club sandwich, featuring pastrami bacon jam and a dijonnaise spread, offers a lighter but equally satisfying option for those who want something less heavy after a day of socializing. Side dishes, though occasionally viewed as less remarkable, such as coleslaw and elote, are solid accompaniments designed to balance out the rich meats. The extensive menu innovations and the pride in classic southern barbecue traditions make this a place where food becomes an experience to enjoy collectively, encouraging groups to order family-style and savor every bite together.

How does service and pricing at Hometown Barbecue support group meetups?

However, it’s worth noting that some reviews mention occasional brusqueness from staff, which may not suit everyone, especially those expecting traditional restaurant etiquette. Still, most patrons find this adds to the authentic and straightforward BBQ vibe that complements the hearty, bold flavors on their plates.

On the pricing front, Hometown Barbecue strikes a good balance between quality and value, especially important for group meetups where sharing is key. The quality of meat and creative culinary twists justify the costs, making it an affordable indulgence for friends and families seeking gourmet barbecue without exorbitant prices. The menu includes shareable platters and dishes available by the pound, facilitating flexible ordering for groups of any size.
