My preferred park for meandering decompression walks with my dog. It’s well maintained and sufficiently large to have quite walk about just about anytime. This park is super fun for my dogo. The best times for me are at dusk and at dawn. Sunrise and sunsets can be epic here. There’s river and trail on the east, a molehill on the north- both nice spots to catch the sun do its thang.

The park is huge. It is amazing to see how someone thought of building beautiful park so long time before near the big residential area to allow people to do exercise, have recreational activities, help kids learn and enjoy. This park has enough space for picnics, kids playground, baseball playground, jogging tracks, cycling tracks etc. It is beautiful and full of green grass. On the east side of the playground is Chicago River, and on the west side is residential area.

Winding mulch trails totaling approximately 1.3 miles provide easy access for walking and birdwatching, and there are flagstone steps that allow close-up views of the river’s edge. For groups interested in nature, photography, or peaceful retreats, this natural area offers a scenic and educational setting that enriches any meetup. Signage educates visitors about the local ecosystem, and park rules ensure that wildlife remains protected, fostering a respectful coexistence between people and nature. This connection to the outdoors adds a valuable dimension to gatherings, especially for friends or families who appreciate environmental beauty alongside social interaction.
