I had such a great stay at Hostel Fish! The staff was absolutely awesome—friendly, welcoming. I’d seen a previous review mentioning bed bugs, so I was a little hesitant, but I can confidently say that was not my experience at all. Everything was clean and comfortable, and I had zero issues. The vibe of the hostel was fun yet relaxed, and I met some great people during my stay. I felt safe, well taken care of, and totally at home. I would 100% stay here again the next time I’m in town. Highly recommend!

One of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed at The beds were comfortable and well-designed w curtains, a reading light, a small fan, and a convenient shelf at the head. The lockers under the bed were big enough to hold a check-in bag. The AC in the room was powerful enough for summer days. The bathrooms were plenty and very clean. Towels were free upon request, which was very nice. The common areas were cozy and fun and made it easy to connect with other guests. The location was perfect - very easy to use a base from which to explore the city. And finally the staff was very helpful and flexible. They could probably use a helping hand since they were running around so much, but they seemed to genuinely care about guests’ experiences. I would gladly stay here again

Warning - Thursday through Saturday is going to be a little bit loud. There is a club style bar with heavy bass super close. This is a perfect place to stay if you want to party in Denver. I made the mistake of getting carried away on Wednesday and taking Thursday off. This was a massive mistake since the party starts Thursday at 10pm. I wasn't made, except at myself. The bar is cool and affordable. The room was clean and comfortable. The location is second to none.

I stay in hostels often, and this is one of the better hostels in the US. The beds are good, all mod cons work (including copious hot water--always a pleasure in Denver). The staff are incredibly helpful. The bar in the hostel is laid back. The bar can be rockin' sometimes--bring some earplugs and you won't have a problem. Location is hard to beat. Great value in general.

Overall good experience - great renovated historic building and very cool interior design and use of the space. Ophelia's nightclub on ground floor is a great live music venue. We stayed in the king room on the 3rd floor on a Friday night - it's a very cool space; however, as others have mentioned, it's noisy and the room also does not get very dark. There is a bar/nightclub on the second floor of a neighboring building right outside the room windows that you can definitely hear not only the bass but loud people out on the rooftop patio until the closing hours of 2a.m. Earplugs help but the hostel could help mitigate by providing white noise machines in the private rooms. Also, the rooms overlook a paid parking lot with extremely bright lighting that light up the rooms even with the curtains drawn. Easy fix here is providing black out curtains.
