Came all the way from Apache junction to check out this shop after going to a vintage vehicle for sale and these two woman in a greenish Kia soul (workers I assume since they unlocked a door and walked into the building) kept staring and staring and after they got out, one of the woman literally tried to hide the fact that she was taking photos of me and my partner in our car and yes, it looks like crap but the vehicle we're in is currently in the process of being painted. We were being patient, waiting for it to open up but after that, we just decided to just go home if that's how customers are treated. I don't like leaving these types of reviews but seriously? Has no one taught them that staring and taking photos without permission or consent is extremely rude? Could have just asked why the car was that way or why we were waiting if they were that curious. 😕 For those curious, the car is straight down to bare metal, bumpers are off so it looks very tacky before it gets primer. Edit: the doors that the ladies walk into say 'identifreed donations box' Edit 2 since y'all replied: First, it is completely understandable that you guys thought we were strange because of how odd the vehicle is. I appreciate what you all are doing for women in need, BUT when someone stares at you the entire time when you yourself are in the parking lot (again, we were parked directly in front of the store, not in the middle of the parking lot) you too would feel unnerved and weirded out. Secondly, if I'm being stared at, I would NOT interact unless approached. I would not think that a car stripped to bare metal screams 'scary' (then again, I can see where you're coming from) YET FROM WHAT I RECALL because this whole instance is so darn bizarre, me and my partner were just watching tiktok or on Facebook marketplace on our phones, trying to figure out when the next car meet was. We were NOT in a scary car and certainly NOT staring at anyone except those staring US down. We were there waiting for the store to open for almost 20 minutes because we were curious and it was the only thrift shop open this morning. I understand you're protecting the women who come in or who you help but as you stated and I will reiterate "next time say hello" I don't talk to strangers who stare me down for ten or so minutes straight. It's SCARY to ME. Good luck with your store and I pray you guys help as much as you can for the years coming. 💕

Husband of Aubrey, replying to her review after owners reply. Before I say anything, I am genuinely very happy to hear you rescue women and good on you guys for doing so. I was staring at my phone until she mentioned that the people in the Kia were staring us down, so yes we started glancing back because yeah I agree we are in PHX and a pretty iffy area. Not a single wave, or anything to try to come off as friendly, just glares and secretive photographs. Also have no idea how a sanded down car is "scary" but you guys could have easily said hello, wave, wave for us to roll the widow down to ask what we're doing, or even come near the car to talk if you felt comfortable enough. Absolutely NONE of that was done, you came off extremely standoff so of course we were going to watch what you guys were doing, we have no idea who you were, only that you kept staring us down with rude glares and when the photos of us began to be taken at the end, OF COURSE we started getting really cautious until we realized you guys were the workers and owner..... Just wow. Pretty easy to put the blame on potential customers when you were coming off just as standoffish and didn't initiate any type of contact that you were saying we should do. Also if you guys were saying we were so "scary" then any type of approach from us would have most likely came across the wrong way. On top of everything, if you're truly trying to keep your survivors safe, like you're claiming to be doing so..... Why wouldn't you get info from me rather than just some rediculous "secret" photo. If you thought we were sketchy, why not ask what we're doing, why were there, any of this type of thing ... Ya know, actually protecting? There's super tiny Karen's who do more investigating and protecting of something as simple as a pebble in their yard. I feel very sorry for you that you guys feel that you're in the right. Not saying we are either, but you could've done just as much as we could, all we witnessed was rude women glaring us down and taking photos of us before scurrying inside, why would we want to even interact with such people as described? No one would. And I know some will ask, why wasn't I curious about why someone took a photo of us, were in a public area, it's legal, it was definitely very rude but so what who the heck cares to ask why ......However you're claiming it was for your survivors protection, yet absolutely no investigation or attempts at contact were made for your ends other than rude glares and photographs taken Absolutely everything of what you posted was extremely contradicting.
