We had talked to a few tour companies and we are so glad we went with Indigo Safaris. Price to service ratio was excellent. We cannot recommend Matthew enough!! He did a great itinerary for us - from Kruger park to Victoria falls and Chobe park. The places chosen were excellent - from high end to more boutique, all with our budget in mind. He changed and updated the itinerary through our early indecisiveness and brought us to places we did not imagine. But it was the little things that really mattered- arranging a birthday celebration for our daughter at the safari lodge and also making a dream come true with a bungee jump - ensuring she was the first to jump that day so we could make our plane. Booking day trips through Matthew were the same price as going direct….yet so much more convenient - he made magic happen to fit our schedules at short notice. He was available at any time. He was always willing to go the extra mile. And we all had an amazing trip thanks to the great work from Matthew. Thank you so much.

We took an amazing trip to the off the beaten path island of Dominica, where the owner, Chris, led a week long sperm whale encounter tour. The Indigo team was incredibly respectful of the whales, and great at finding them. We swam with whales 4 of 6 days and dolphins the other 2 days. This part of the Caribbean is full of life, and you’ll watch the fisherman pull bigger fish than you’ve ever caught into their small boats on hand lines. We stayed in the basic guesthouse in a small, rustic fishing village nestled in a rainforest basin. The Jungle Bay resort is a 20 minute walk or a short cab ride if you want a resort break. Bring cash. If you have the energy after long days on the boat, there’s interesting snorkeling and hiking right in town, and a few tasty restaurants. We’d go with indigo again tomorrow if we could!

I went on the Dominica sperm whale trip with Indigo Safaris in December and had a wonderful experience. Chris and the local guides are incredibly knowledgeable and provide the best possible viewing experience. They do things the right way with permits and have a local feel which is oftentimes difficult to incorporate into a safari type experience. Additionally, Indigo has connections across the globe for whatever experience you may be looking for and can curate experiences based on what you want to spend and want to see. Highly recommend.

Amazing sperm whale swimming experience. Chris is an outstanding guide, extremely knowledgeable about sperm whales. Most importantly he approaches all encounters ethically, with the primary concern being the well being of the whales. Not every operator is equally responsible. Sperm whale swimming is only sustainable and beneficial to Dominica’s marine environment if everyone acts respectfully towards the whales. Would highly recommend, trip was absolutely incredible.
