I booked a reservation for a solo dining experience for my birthday and it was a 10/10 for me! My server Mo was wonderfully knowledgeable, communicative, attentive and friendly. He made many recommendations for me which simplified the whole experience. The food was truly delicious, coursed out perfectly and paired well with my cocktails. I would recommend anyone to go for a date night, solo treat or special group occasion. The female manager was very helpful and friendly as well.

We chose Janken for our anniversary dinner and were very pleased. The food, atmosphere, and service were all excellent. Our server made great recommendations, including the Pure Dusk Junmai Daiginjo sake, which complimented our meal so well. We loved the wagyu gyoza and smoked wagyu short rib but the highlight was the steak tartare (4&5th photos). Our server actually showed us the best way to eat in and prepared it right at our table. Overall it was great experience, we even were seated a few tables away from Scottie Barnes. 5 stars all around.

Cocktail menu is also top notch. This is quickly becoming a top food destination for me in Portland! Highly recommend if you're a fan of Japanese & Korean dishes!

We came here for drinks as we just had dinner in the area. We didn't have to wait long to get a seat at the bar area. The interior is well designed and gives you that good feeling when there. Our drinks were well pretty decent. We ordered The Rye of Rising Sun (a more spirit forward drink), The Marigold Hotel, and Litchi Martini. I think the Marigold Hotel was the winner of the drinks. It was easy to drink and refreshing. We also ordered the bingsu, which I thought was done very well. I would come back just for that.
