It fills fast so visit on off hours. I enjoyed the Chicago style hot dog more than the Polish dog but both were good. Water is free, credit card is accepted, and you can modify toppings. Vegetarians will enjoy most of the sides and the veggie burger.

This place is a rip off. I ordered a gyro plate with fries that came out to almost $20 & only received literally 6 fries with my order. Didn’t even make the gyro, slapped some meat on the side and gave me slice of pita bread I had TO PUT MY OWN GYRO TOGETHER!!! Do not spend your money here at least J&J fish 2 doors down give you a nice amount of fries with your meal.

I’m already a huge fan of Portillo’s, but after reading multiple great reviews about the Italian beef at Jimmy’s Gyros & Grill, I had to give it a try—even though the name doesn’t exactly scream “Italian beef hotspot.” Jimmy’s is a small, hole-in-the-wall spot, but it’s clean and has bar seating along one side of the restaurant. I went straight to the counter and ordered an Italian Beef with hot peppers, no dip. Within minutes, my order was ready. At first, I thought $11 seemed a bit steep for the sandwich—until I unwrapped it. Oh man, this thing was packed with sliced beef! The meat was incredibly flavorful without being overly salty, and the hot peppers took it to another level. By the time I finished, I was beyond full, and for the quality and portion size, the price was more than fair. I’m already looking forward to stopping by again next time I’m in Chicago!
