Had such a Cool experience. If there's one thing about a kid is that they are always wanting to be an adult because of the freedom they THINK we have as an adult lol. Seeing these 5th graders live in the life of an adult experiencing a job, payroll, payday, bills, responsibilities, wants and needs of just an everyday life and seeing them stress about the cost of everything and manage themselves as an adult is definitely something that can teach them valuable lessons. And they definitely learn to manage themselves as an adult through this experience 🤸🏾‍♀️

Incredible learning experience about how commerce works, for the kids (and adults)! My son was soooo excited for this experience and set his clothes out a day early and everything. The kids receive an assignment indicating the role they will be playing, in advance, at school. They prepare for that role. I was so impressed that the creators built out each business as you would really see it in real life. Lots of detail. The only draw back was that there are roles to be played (such as my son received) that don't involve selling anything. So he was super disappointed when he came home. There were heavy tears because he felt like he had nothing to do all day. He sat at the Discover Card desk all day with nothing to do. He was in charge of passing out the lanyards in the morning. But when the time came to collect lanyards at the end of the experience, the kids were instructed to leave the lanyards in their work place. So he was left waiting at the Discover desk in disappointment. His only job... didn't happen. So they may need to rethink through some of the jobs and make sure they are more equal. His team didn't include him very well because he was put with the team that was located in the City Hall, so he seemed like an after thought. He didn't receive a paycheck and didn't understand where to go to get one. So after standing in line at Maverick for quite a while, his purchase was declined because there wasn't any money on his card. Luckily I was volunteering so I was able to ask a worker what to do and how to find his group, etc. All of the other stations seemed to be fine. And even with his experience he still had a good time buying things and being with friends at lunch time. I would still recommend this place highly! But if we ever went back I would make sure my child was on a team that sold things together.

I'm so happy y'all are still in business. Seeing pictures of JA is very nostalgic. About a decade ago, I was a manager for Smith's at JA. I actually worked for Smith's during high school and later got my bachelor's in Biology lol. Definitely recommend this place for a school field trip!
