Here's what people think of Kenneth Hahn Disc Golf Course
As of recent, Kenneth Hahn Disc Golf Course holds a 4.7-star rating based on 215 reviews.
User reviews consistently praise Kenneth Hahn Disc Golf Course for its picturesque setting and creative use of terrain. Positive feedback highlights the enjoyable combination of elevation changes and the natural environment, which provide both fun and strategic playing opportunities. Players appreciate the clear signage at each hole, including "next tee" directional arrows on baskets, which facilitate easy navigation despite the course’s bowl-shaped layout. Many mention Hole 4 as particularly memorable due to its challenging tree carry and rewarding views, capturing the essence of the course’s engaging design. The course’s location in the middle of Los Angeles offers a surprising escape from the urban bustle, allowing players to feel immersed in nature during their round. However, some negative reviews point to a few practical issues: tee pads need improvements as some are damaged or placed on pavement with only tape markings, which can detract from the playing experience, especially when wet. There were also calls for better signage leading from the parking lot to the first tee to help new visitors find the start more easily. Additionally, course maintenance and updates have been sporadic, with some noting that facilities and conditions might not always be optimal. Overall, the community consensus regards Kenneth Hahn Disc Golf Course as a well-designed, scenic, and fun place to play disc golf with friends, balancing enjoyable challenges with a natural setting. With ongoing improvements, it stands to increase its appeal further among disc golf players in the Los Angeles area.

Like playing on top of the world! High above Los Angeles, the parkland in itself is a quiet and picturesque place. Here the course lies within an upper meadow surrounded by walking paths with awesome views! The starting number one hole or basket is near the east side pathway where an old diagram can also be found. I’ll post a photo of that for reference. Also depending on the weather, a thin ocean view may be possible to the west. Especially good then to see the sunset, if not for the marine layer!

Nice 9 hole course. Not terrible changes in elevation. Holes range from 250-500' and are mostly straightforward with 2-3 trees per hole. Much more forgiving and less climbing than Chavez Ridge. Helps to load the course map on PDGA for the first round to find the tees. Beautiful open park with lots of picnic areas. Parking $6 on weekends but free during the week. Open sunrise to sunset.

This is a hidden gem of a disc golf course within a larger multi purpose park. I had no idea it was here for the longest time. As someone that grew up playing disc golf, it’s nice to know to know I can play near my residence in Marina Del Rey now. There’s only really 9 holes, that’s my knock down from a 5 star park. Oak grove and Huntington Beach both double the size. Still a cool spot especially for the Westside.

Actually not playing disk golf but the sunset slayed it tonight. Thank you Kenneth Hahn and LA city.

Huge field for the 9 holes dedicated to disc golf. A few drives with some big elevation drops is fun. Most baskets are in challenging spots relative to trees. Hole 9 is a 500ft+ par 4, otherwise they're all 275ft - 3xx par 3. Baskets have an arrow attached to to easily find the next tee pad. You must pay $7 to enter Kenneth Hahn Park on the weekend. Met one of the course designers who mentioned they may put in concrete tee pads. That would be wonderful vs. some of the rubber tee pads that aren't flat. They just put in new signs at each of the tee pads which was great.

How does Kenneth Hahn Disc Golf Course compare to other nearby disc golf courses? Within Los Angeles, Kenneth Hahn stands out for its unique combination of natural elevation, urban views, and friendly layout. While some reviews cite the course as modest compared to larger or more developed courses, many appreciate its charm and challenge, especially considering it is free to play and embedded in a beautiful state park. Courses like Chavez Ridge and Oak Grove offer alternative options but tend to require more driving or lack some of the elevation features that make Kenneth Hahn engaging. Its nine-hole loop design also differentiates it from longer courses, catering well to groups who want quality and social interaction over extended play. Although some players mention that the course could benefit from more refined signage and infrastructure, recent and ongoing improvements speak to its growing popularity and community support. For groups in Los Angeles looking for a refreshing outdoor meetup spot, Kenneth Hahn provides a balanced and accessible disc golf experience with additional recreational benefits in a safe and scenic setting.
What are the key tips and recommendations for groups playing at Kenneth Hahn Disc Golf Course? To maximize your visit, arrive early during weekdays or plan for weekend parking fees. Make sure your group downloads and uses the UDisc app, which offers maps, real-time traffic data, and helps keep everyone on track—especially given some holes have limited signage. Bring enough discs for various shots, including long drives and shorter precision throws, as the course requires a mix of both. Wear comfortable walking shoes suited for uneven, grassy terrain with some hills to handle elevation changes without trouble. Plan to spend around two hours for a full round, so packing snacks or coordinating a post-game picnic nearby is a great idea for extended socializing. Since the course is free to access, bringing your own refreshments and gear is advisable. Lastly, be considerate of other park visitors as some holes operate close to walking paths or picnic areas, helping maintain a great atmosphere for everyone.
