We absolutely loved our kite surfing lesson with Harly. I took my boys, 10 and 12 to start learning kite surfing and the experience was incredible. What I loved the most was the care Harly had to ensure safety. My only regret was not starting the lessons early in the week we spent in Miami. We wished we could have spent more time learning this great sport.

Harly of Kitesurf Miami was great. We only had time for one lesson but Harly took us through all the setup and got us started learning how to launch and control the kite. It’s trickier than it looks. Next time we are in South Florida we plan on making time for several lessons with him.

Harley was an extremely patient instructor who took his time to familiarize me with the technicalities of using a kite. He was also very friendly, answered all my doubts, and took all safety precautions necessary. As someone who was completely new to the sport of kitesurfing, I had very little knowledge going into this session. I do wish I had received some guidelines or information about what would be covered in the 2 hour long session. If you are only interested in a one-time session (minimum of 2 hours), I would recommend some expectation-setting before you go. I underestimated how much I would get to do and I was disappointed to find out I won’t be able to try anything in the water! I wish I knew this information earlier, so I would sign up for the session only if I could afford (time/money) to learn for at least 2-3 days. Having said all of this, it was a great experience that made me wish I could learn more :)

Harly’s the man! I have a lot of snowboarding and Onewheeling experience but I caught my first like 30 second ride on my second day :) we rescheduled for when the wind was better and I’m glad we did, he’s super patient and explains everything really clearly. If I’m in Miami I’ll be back 🥳
