Nice park for walking on the east side of Austin. Plenty of tree cover. Cool boardwalk. City views. Statues of local luminaries here and there. In the summer, we recommend going early in the morning before the sun starts to bake. To cover the whole thing, it probably takes 2-3 hours, but shorter walks (like ours) are possible.

Beautiful trail. Well maintained. Can bike and walk comfortably. Decent distance, beautiful views and they have kayaks and paddle boats for rent. Restrooms are pretty dirty so don’t drink a lot of water before coming here.

There are many serene places along the trail where one can find pleasant respite from the downtown crowds. Competitors in a multi-college rowing competition had converged on the park on the day that I visited which was intriguing.

Nice place for walking and biking by the lake. There’s plenty of shade, but it gets very crowded on weekends.

Easy hike near downtown. Nice scenery, but it's still the city, so it's super noisy and there are lots of people. It's a great place to bring your furry friend and a good place to ride your bike. You can rent kayaks and paddle boards along the trail for some fun in the water.
