5 stars for nostalgia as a Denver native. Lakeside was the ultimate experience when I was growing up. It hasn't changed a lot, except the rides might squeak a bit more and the decor has gone from "could use fresh paint" to "what does that sign actually say?" People may talk about how rides don't work or the bathrooms are missing half the "on" levers in the sinks... ok all you haters, you just don't understand the rush of joy from experiencing this classic theme park that is a page out of history. Yoda would say, "Look so good when you are 117, you will not." But, a star off because I hope the owner invests in keeping this gem around for another 117 years. Parking: free Admission:$5 Option to purchase park pass or tickets that each cost 50 cents, with rides requiring various amounts of tickets. The kiddie area only costs 1 ticket per ride. For young kids new to amusement parks or with sensory considerations, I recommend bringing cash and purchasing tickets as you go because our kids only rode on three rides. We enjoyed the train which goes all around the lake! Memories made for the next generation! đź’•

Lakeside Amusement Park is a gem! Going there feels like traveling back in time in the best way—there’s something so nostalgic and charming about it. It’s the perfect place for a fun day with kids of all ages. There are tons of classic rides to enjoy, lots of kiddie rides too, and the whole vibe is laid-back and family-friendly. The staff is nice and helpful, and everything is super affordable. Parking is free, admission is only $5, and you can choose to buy ride tickets for just $0.50 each or get an unlimited ride wristband. Even the food is reasonably priced. It’s such a fun, budget-friendly place to make memories.

Best amusement park in North Denver, hands-down! Super fun for everyone… Are you missing Rehoboth Beach in 1988? This place is a total throwback, but still super fun and might even make your kids puke.

I went to Lakeside with my little nieces and teenage nephew and more family members. We had a blast! So much of Lakeside is the same from when I was a kid 30+ years ago, and that's not a bad thing. The kiddieland rides were perfect for the littles, even the teenager liked the little rollercoaster. The whip it was fun for nearly everyone, as were so many other rides. The Crystal Palace was fun to make our way through, just like I remembered. The arcade games are still the best deal anywhere in town and had a great maintenance worker making sure things went smoothly and patiently overseeing the redeeming of tickets for trinkets. The concessions were extremely reasonably priced and yummy. The newest rollercoaster made my sister and littlest niece scream in a good way. The train ride was just how I remembered it, other than some scenery changes due to development, with the tunnel close to the end. The carousel was familiar and comfortable. Now the little ones will have memories of Lakeside to last a lifetime, just like me and my Mom. Love this place and hope to go back many times in the future!

My family and I went here a couple days ago. It was fun but tbh it's overpriced for such little & unprofessional/rude staff and the bathrooms are gross. Our dining experience in the food court wasn't pleasant at all because of the short staff & the grouchy cook Pat was very ride to us and gave off stressed out/rude old man vibes and was not in the slightest anywhere near happy to be there. Honestly I felt like we were a burden for asking for burgers to buy in the first place and it's all frozen food we seen the box of corn dogs you can buy at the grocery store or like 15$ so not even worth it. The train ride was nice and the scrambler is my favorite. Our toddler had fun going on kiddie rides but there wasn't enough staff to hold rides open so they had to switch off different rides with the same ppl. If I was to choose I like Elitches so much better & in my opinion worth more bang for your buck.

The intimate size of Lakeside means you can stay close as a group without feeling lost in a sprawling crowd, fostering interaction and shared experiences throughout. The availability of picnic areas allows groups to bring their own food and enjoy meals together outdoors, adding a personal and relaxed touch to the day. Free parking is a major logistical ease for larger groups traveling together, removing a common stress factor when attending amusement parks. Evening hours during the summer also provide groups the chance to experience the park’s enchanting neon light display, creating a memorable shared visual feast and perfect photo opportunities. The park’s historic significance as one of the oldest family-owned parks in the U.S. also lends a sense of tradition and a special story to recount among friends while enjoying rides. Lastly, the friendly and family-oriented environment means everyone can feel safe and comfortable, which is essential for group cohesion. These features collectively make Lakeside not just an amusement park, but a place where friends can connect, celebrate, and create lasting memories.

What are the dining options and amenities for groups at Lakeside Amusement Park? While Lakeside Amusement Park offers classic amusement park snacks and fun food options, it encourages visitors to bring their own picnic, provided it excludes glass, alcohol, or heating requirements. This policy is beneficial for groups who prefer to customize their dining experience or cater to specific dietary needs. The park’s picnic-friendly attitude helps groups save money and enjoy a personalized meal setting in the park’s outdoor areas. However, there are a few logistical points to consider—concessions primarily accept cash, and the on-site ATM only dispenses small amounts, which may require preparation in advance. Despite these minor inconveniences, the availability of food options and the freedom to bring your own meal means groups can plan around their preferences and spend more time enjoying attractions than waiting in food lines. Additionally, convenient restroom facilities, shaded resting areas, and clear signage help groups to navigate the park comfortably throughout the day. These amenities support a smooth and enjoyable experience, especially for larger meetups where organization is key.

How does Lakeside Amusement Park honor nostalgia and history, enhancing your group experience? Lakeside Amusement Park preserves the charm of early 20th-century amusement parks, making every visit a step back in time. Founded in 1908, the park still features classic rides like the merry-go-round and tried-and-true coasters that have thrilled visitors for generations. The iconic neon Tower of Jewels and the carefully maintained vintage architecture create an ambiance that is unique in today’s amusement landscape. Friends who appreciate history and vintage Americana will find the park’s atmosphere both enchanting and educational. Sharing stories, exploring the park’s legacy together, and riding historical attractions provide group visitors with a deeper connection that transcends ordinary amusement park fun. This heritage element adds richness to group outings, making Lakeside a special place not just for rides, but for meaningful shared experiences rooted in an enduring legacy.

What are the practical tips for maximizing your group meetup at Lakeside Amusement Park? Planning ahead is key to enjoying Lakeside to the fullest with friends or family. Since some classic rides like the Cyclone and Ferris Wheel may occasionally be closed for maintenance, check the park’s current status before visiting. Arriving early on weekdays or non-holiday evenings can help avoid long lines and crowds, ensuring your group spends more time riding and less time waiting. Because the park has flexible pricing, groups can choose between purchasing individual ride coupons or comprehensive ride passes, allowing everyone to tailor their experience according to their preferred ride frequency and budget. Bringing cash is highly advisable to navigate food and game purchases smoothly. Lastly, coordinate a meeting spot within the park in case members get separated, as this small park’s vintage layout can be a little confusing for new guests. By following these tips, your group meetup at Lakeside can be organized, fun-filled, and stress-free.

What unique features set Lakeside Amusement Park apart from other amusement parks? One of the most distinctive features of Lakeside is its authentic vintage character combined with its stunning natural setting by Lake Rhoda and the Rocky Mountains. Unlike larger theme parks dominated by modern, high-tech rides and corporate theming, Lakeside’s focus is on tradition, simplicity, and charm. The neon-lit evenings provide a magical atmosphere unlike any other park in the region, especially for groups seeking an experience that is both visually striking and emotionally resonant. Additionally, the ability to bring your own picnic allows for leisurely group meals that are rare in today’s amusement parks. The park’s longstanding place in Denver’s heritage and its commitment to family-friendly fun without the overwhelming scale of some modern parks give visitors a chance to reconnect with simpler times.
