Miss Jennifer is the best ballet teacher I have ever had! This is the place for serious, rigorous, and fun Balanchine training in Los Angeles. Miss Jennifer danced in the New York City Ballet under George Balanchine…..you will not get this level of knowledge and expertise anywhere else! The classes are smaller and more intimate so you get more personal attention unlike other dance studios in the city. I came in as someone who had taken a break from ballet for years and Miss Jennifer completely changed my technique and made me a much stronger and better dancer (with a killer body!). I had been doing so many simple things wrong for so many years and did not realize. If I was a professional dancer, she is the only teacher I would go to. Would highly recommend for both beginners and advanced students.

The Beginner Ballet classes not only show you the fundamentals, but show you how to carry yourself with elegance, grace, and most importantly, presence. It's a great workout, to boot. Jennifer has a keen eye for form, and often offers small adjustments that can feel like "aha! I get it now!" lightbulb moments, even if you are entirely uninitiated to dance like I was when I started. She has invented her own rules-of-thumb derived from her years of expertise as a dancer working with the greats ("dish your butt!") that have given me a greater understanding of posture and movement. I felt pushed just enough to do better, and make more confident, poised movements. I was excited every week to come to the studio for barre routines and of course, tidbits of wisdom and stories. The class is fun, well paced, with great music. You can make a ton of progress in private lessons, but in the group class I felt each student received attention you won't get from other studios - it additionally feels like an open, collaborative space where the regulars are more than happy to give you a hand and offer ballet advice. If you are looking to learn ballet in an intimate, fun setting from a world-class teacher, I cannot recommend Larchmont Ballet enough.
