Amazing experience! The Sail San Diego team was excellent in all respects. The booking process and the information provided in advance was detailed and comprehensive. Melinda's help throughout the experience was top-notch - responsive, helpful, professional, and always available to answer our questions. The boat and all equipment was well maintained and exceeded our expectations (we were on the boat 'Tenacious'). Captain Jeff 'Vegas' Howard led the ASA courses with us and he is spectacular. Captain Jeff was amazingly patient, tailored his instruction to our skill level, and always kept in mind how we plan to use our skills (which is as cruisers, not racers). We (my husband and I) did a private course and my husband earned his ASA 101/103/104 as planned - I was there to learn how to be a competent 'first mate' and I feel we succeed there too. We would highly recommend both Sail San Diego and Captain Jeff 'Vegas' Howard to those looking to both improve their boating/sailing skills and to have fun while doing it.

Captain Jeff is a gifted instructor. He helped my wife and I go from nervous novices to confident (beginning) sailors. His patient, calm demeanor and reassuring words helped us feel at ease as we practiced skills until we were proficient.
