Here for a community service oriented class at PSU , not sure of all the options available for walking in from the neighborhood but I believe you can get a garden space and there is a mediation garden. Very large plot of land and multiple organizations have areas here.

Their work parties are fun and engaging, and the garden manager Luke is an amazing source of garden information. The farm stand that occurs over the summer and fall seasons contains some incredibly fresh and tasty produce that I personally wish could be available year-round!
