Chicago Parks District does some great things, this gem is one of them. The public archery range is accessible and well maintained. Reminder that to access the field house and targets you will need to join one of the local archery clubs (Lincoln Park Archery Club, or the North Side Archery Club) both of which can be found online. The fees are minimal and you'll plug in to a great community here in the city. I've encountered everyone from traditional archery enthusiasts, to competition archers, or hunters preparing for the season. All have been courteous and helpful. If you're me to the sport or just curious, the clubs and park department offer a variety of classes and clinics, gear included, to learn and have some fun. Being someone who spent most of their life in rural areas, and loves the outdoors, I'm grateful the city and these clubs provide such an accessible way to get out and practice
