I booked Lo’ & Rosie Creative Studio for my birthday celebration. While the venue itself is a beautiful space and the event ended up going well, the experience leading up to it was disappointing and stressful. We paid for an additional hour to set up, but when we arrived on time, no one was there to let us in. My team and I waited outside in the humid heat with no communication from the venue, which delayed our entire setup. Once we were finally let in 15 minutes later, the layout of the venue had not been completed—despite being discussed and confirmed both over the phone and in person beforehand. Because of this, we had to shift focus from solely decorating to also help rearrange the venue. This caused a major delay in our ability to install decor and added unnecessary stress to what should have been a smooth setup process. This was incredibly frustrating, especially considering it was something that should have already been handled by the venue staff. I had more than enough people to manage decor, but we ended up having to do the venue’s job in addition to our own. Additionally, the fridge still contained leftover items from a previous event, which clearly indicated that the space hadn’t been properly cleaned or prepared for our booking. After sharing my concerns, I received a detailed response from the venue owner, Aarika. While she offered a refund for only the missed hour, she also mentioned staying to assist with setup, presenting it as going above and beyond. However, if the venue layout had been completed as promised, her help wouldn’t have been necessary in the first place. It’s unfortunate because I had genuinely looked forward to using this venue again in the future, both personally and professionally as an event planner. Unfortunately, this experience has made me reconsider. I hope improvements are made in their communication, professionalism, and setup process to ensure future clients don’t encounter the same issues.
