Review I’m glad I was there and I’m already looking forward to going back. Since I moved to Seattle 10 years ago I’ve been craving for a good tapas place with authenticity in culinary craft without pretentious atmosphere. Here I found that resolution. The Batatas Bravas was excellent in all fronts: the visual , textual and aromatic. Instead of traveling thousands of miles to pursue that quality , Lonely Siren brought mastery to the Seattle backyard. Lulas, squid in garlic source was cooked to perfection, just the right squid dish, simple and not associated with rubbery texture. The source is balanced with brightness, garlic and buttery, it’s a crime to waste any of that without soaking up with their home made, warm papo seco. The smashed burger they were running as a weekly special was a gift to experience: the bold flavors, complex textures offered by caramelized onions, spam, paper-thin charred potato made every single bite sound of music. I love cooking and I love eating, I have been looking for real 5 star restaurants in Seattle and this is a solid keeper.

What a siren! One of my favorite spots in the city. Great location tucked in the market. Excellent food. Shishito peppers and Shrimp were amazing. Note: you can’t see the waterfront from here. The photo with the view is taken from above showing the place with respect to the market.

May 14, 2025, We had a reservation this evening at Lonely Siren to celebrate a friend’s birthday, and it turned out to be an unforgettable dining experience. Tucked away in a somewhat hidden spot, this gem of a restaurant offers a vibrant and cozy atmosphere with a beautifully designed covered interior patio that sets the mood just right. While parking can be a bit of a challenge, there are several paid lots nearby that make it manageable. From the start, the service was attentive and welcoming. Although the restaurant’s policy states that a 20% gratuity is added for groups of six or more, we were a party of five and still had it included in our bill. While this was a bit unexpected, the service truly was exceptional, so we didn’t mind. We ordered a wide variety of dishes, and everything we tasted was absolutely delicious. For Petiscos, we enjoyed Bread, Marinated Olives, Marcona Almonds, House Pickles, Crushed Marbles (punched marble potatoes with molho cru and sea salt), Conservas Portuguesas (tinned Portuguese sardines with crostini), Fries with Eyes (whole fried Spanish anchovies with garlic aioli and lemon), Pimento Shishito (blistered shishito peppers with lemon and smoked paprika), and crispy Brussels Sprouts tossed in herb vinaigrette and fried shallots. Moving on to the shareable dishes, we savored Grilled Pineapple with sea salt, and Batatas Bravas — crispy potatoes dressed in bravas sauce and smoked manchego soubise. We also ordered Shrimp Mozambique (in sofrito, vinho verde, and piri piri), the tender and flavorful Spanish Octopus served with baby potatoes and molho cru, Pasteis de Bacalhau (salt cod croquettes with olive tartar and lemon), Lulas (sautéed squid with garlic, shallots, vinho verde, and lemon), Grilled Sardines, and Clams cooked with vinho verde, linguica, garlic, and herbs, served with grilled sourdough bread. Every bite was well-prepared, balanced, and rich in flavor. The prices were reasonable, especially for the quality and portion sizes. The ingredients tasted fresh, the presentation was thoughtful, and the restaurant itself was very clean. From the ambiance to the food and the friendly staff, Lonely Siren delivered an incredible experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking to explore Portuguese-inspired flavors in a beautiful, relaxed setting. We’ll definitely be back!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Hidden Gem with Incredible Portuguese Flavors!** If you're exploring Pike Place and craving bold flavors and creative cocktails, **Lonely Siren** is a must-visit! This Portuguese-style tavern on **Level 2** is a bit tucked away (pro tip: enter from the **waterfront side** to make finding it easier), but it’s absolutely worth the hunt. The food here is phenomenal—don’t miss the **pimenta shisheto** (spicy, smoky, and addictive), the **cogumelos salteados** (garlicky sautéed mushrooms that melt in your mouth), the juicy **steak skewers**, and the **crispy batatas** (perfectly golden and seasoned). Every bite is packed with flavor! And if you love a little heat, their **piri piri chicken poppers** are a must—packed with flavor and just the right kick or the classic sandwich cannot go wrong For drinks, their **Vasco Baril** and **Siren Song** are fantastic house specialties, but their cocktail menu has plenty of other unique options that pair perfectly with the food. The vibe is cozy and inviting, with a touch of maritime charm that fits the Pike Place atmosphere. Whether you're stopping in for a drink and a snack or settling in for a full meal, **Lonely Siren delivers an unforgettable experience**. Highly recommend!

As a Portuguese born Seattle resident, I had high expectations. I want to highlight the service first, which was immaculate and really appreciated (5 stars). Unfortunately the food is not good, which is disappointing: the fritters were undercooked on the inside and overcooked on the outside. Cod fritters are a must in my country’s cusine but you cannot serve them undercooked: I think the oil was too hot and they overcooked on the outside and never managed to fully cook on the inside. This has happened to me before so I understand. The grilled sardines, which is my favorite dish, were served undercooked and they were missing salt. The chef redid the dish, and that is much appreciated and needs to be highlighted, so the cooking was a lot better on the second try but still missing salt. The secret for good grilled sardines is kosher salt in abundance, not sea salt. That is how I eat them when I go home and that is how they make you taste the sea. Put salt in these beauties and try to clean the guts a little bit too! I also wanted to try the pastel de nata (which is something I eat by the dozens when I am in Portugal) but was not brave enough after being disappointed with what was ordered for the table. This restaurant has potential if these cooking issues are fixed because you have the servers to make it a good experience! The atmosphere is really nice.

How is the service quality at Lonely Siren for group visits?

Service at Lonely Siren is consistently praised for being personable, attentive, and efficient despite the restaurant’s modest size and staffing. Reviews often highlight how staff go the extra mile to ensure guests feel welcomed and cared for, which is especially important when managing groups where multiple needs and preferences arise. The environment fosters a relaxed yet professional interaction that complements the overall dining experience. Given the limited staff, there is an emphasis on clear communication and patience, which guests are encouraged to understand. Still, this small-team approach results in a bespoke level of hospitality that larger venues may struggle to offer. For groups meeting up, this means an attentive experience where your needs are noticed and accommodated without feeling rushed or overlooked.

What are the practical considerations for visiting Lonely Siren with a group?

Groups planning to visit Lonely Siren should consider the restaurant’s smaller footprint and limited capacity, which makes securing reservations for parties of up to 12 advisable to guarantee seating. The establishment’s hours, opening from early afternoon and running late into the evening, offer flexibility for different meetup styles—whether a casual lunch or a late-night gathering with cocktails. Because the business is small, guests are encouraged to be patient and understanding with service, which is typically attentive but may be adjusted to the pace of the day and crowd. Finally, groups should be prepared to embrace the tapas-style dining approach and share plates as the primary means to enjoy the menu, making it ideal for those who appreciate variety and communal dining.
