Gorgeous, Classic hotel which is centrally located In Manhattan. We were within walking distance to upscale boutiques, souvenir shops and plenty of restaurants and food carts. The service from reception, bell hop, housekeeping and in room dining was Outstanding. Our room was a quiet and peaceful cathedral view and that was Beautiful. The hotel has gone downhill since I stayed there last. My first room had a missing inner curtain, and quite a bright time square light shining in. So I switched, and the second had a totally worn out bed. The next morning I switched again, and the room was beautiful, with a normal bed and fantastic view... But it smelled like smoke. I don't think the AC worked properly in any of them. This used to be my favorite Manhattan hotel, but something bad seems to have happened.

Very mediocre experience.. Rooms are average, nothing spectacular. The only good thing about this hotel was the location. Front desk staff seem like they are always overwhelmed, not pleasant, not smiling and not welcoming. To ask for a late check out which is a courtesy of having a reservation made by the American Express Platinum card, is like asking for something that I don’t have the right to. The only reason i booked at this hotel was the perks that i get with my card. So you have to appreciate and understand that even if you refuse to provide this complimentary service, you have to do it in a nice way. When I called and asked for a 1pm late check out, the receptionist was very rude, not respectful and very unprofessional. A 2 hour request wasn’t something they were willing to accommodate! The management need to work on improving their service and train their employees to know how to communicate efficiently and respectfully with their guests. If you’re expecting a 5 star service, book somewhere else. I will never return to this place
