Most of the dishes were deep-fried and overloaded with aioli, lacking any real balance or finesse. The Calabrian chicken was also deep fried and, frankly, quite average. The grilled shrimp was the standout, but it wasn’t enough to save the overall meal. The wine selection was limited and uninspired. For a place that presents itself as a proper dining spot, the food and drink offerings really missed the mark. Sadly, I wouldn’t recommend Madre for a full meal — maybe just drinks and a snack at the bar if you’re drawn in by the atmosphere.

Upon requesting a relocation, as our "neighbor" had also expressed a desire to move due to the close seating arrangement, the host was accommodating.
