Talked to the lifeguards concerning that sign. They said the levels are actually lower than yesterday. Just don't try to swallow a bunch and you'll be fine. It's nothing like the situation in the South Bay. Friendly awesome lifeguards, clean beaches, no crazy homeless. It's a happy day and at the beach with no waves so my youngest can learn to swim. Five stars!

Really fun playground located right across the street from the Belmont Park area. It’s right between the bay and the ocean. There are bathrooms and showers, volleyball courts, lots of engaging structures for a variety of ages, benches, and chairs, grassy areas, etc. Would highly recommend.

On our most recent visit to Belmont park we parked in the lot adjacent to this park because there was plenty of parking available. On the way back we stopped to the kids play at Marita Gardner playground. I didn’t realize the legacy of Marita Gardner, she was an educator and community activist who was killed by a drunk driver while she was painting over graffiti in the beach area. I think it’s beautiful that the city dedicated a park to her. And it’s a fun, innovative interactive park that is often busy with delighted children. I especially love the pink color of the slide.
