03/07/25 around 8:07PM, male cashier with short, dark hair and dark-framed glasses, wearing a name tag with no name on it, was extremely rude. I read the sign on the door 40% off any one regular priced item, I admit I should’ve read it closer to see that I had to pull it the coupon myself on the website but I didn’t notice. So I go up to the register and wait for the cashier, who seems annoyed that I didn’t use the self-check out. I ask him for the coupon and he tells me I have to pull it up, so I ask him how to do that and he walks me through it with a bad attitude and then when I am paying, he flings the bag with my purchase onto the counter. I get customer service is hard, but maybe don’t do it if you don’t have the personality for it.

I took a large photograph to get framed and they damaged it. To cover themselves, at pick-up when I brought it to their attention, I was told that the manager placed a note that there was damage not previously noticed at drop-off. There was no damage. The photographer took great care with packaging. I know because I was there when he did it. Also, Michael's takes a photo of the artwork when you drop it off. There was no way this would have been missed. Very disappointed at such lack of responsibility and accountability. I had to reach out to the photographer and pay for a replacement photograph. Also, with the other photograph they framed, they mismeasured and placed it in a frame that was too small. This made the photograph look wrinkled inside the frame. I had to take it to the Brodie location for them to fix. Avoid this Michael's for framing. Go to the Brodie location. Very disappointed!

Extensive selection of crafting materials. Pet friendly. This has got to be the first Michael's I've visited in Austin, TX and the store felt quite large! Watch out Hobby Lobby! 😜 I'm a dog trainer and come here to work on desensitization to public/retail spaces with my dog(s).

If you want to get a photo framed, avoid this Michaels’ location at all costs. The staff were unprofessional, careless, and did a poor job at framing our picture. They also said the picture would be ready in two weeks, but when we called after the two weeks it was still not ready — it took nearly four weeks. When we picked up the picture, there were bumps all on the picture (see image below). I would recommend framing your photos at Hobby Lobby instead.

Review based purely on my framing experience. I’ve been here twice now with 2 different pieces of art, vastly different sizes, and frames. I’ve worked with 2 different framing employees and they’ve been patient, helpful with recommendations offering different options (variance in cost and aesthetics), and delivered within the given time frame.
