The Youth Climbing instructors are so positive, enthusiastic, informative and patient. My daughter has been part of the youth classes season season for years and has gained confidence in her climbing ability, but more important her self esteem seeing herself overcoming challenges. Derek Quick, the Youth Program Manager has also been accommodating, personable and quick to communicate. Highly recommend.

We paid 180$ for the learn to lead class. there was 6 people, and 1 instructor. We only got to lead climb 2 times and lead belay once. There needs to be less people, or more instructors. It was a waste of money. Why would a learn to lead class only have us practice lead belaying 1 time. We did not feel prepared for the lead certification test. We failed on our first try, and they told us to practice. WE HAD JUST PAID FOR A CLASS TO PRACTICE. Please fix your class, please give me a refund. Instructor was fantastic though , I knew everything I was supposed to, I just wasn't given enough practice. Don't tell me to practice when I just paid for practice and wasn't allowed to practice enough to learn to lead. Other than that, gym is good, in the workout area, stuff is always broken or breaking. Route setting is nice, and there are a ton of climbs. Bathrooms are nice, staff are always super kind.

I’d love to rate this gym more highly, but as someone visiting from out of state and with a lot of east coast gym experience I have a few glaring gripes. Firstly, the setting strategy here seems to be to set a climb about 1-3 grades below the desired level, and then swapping 1 or 2 important holds for the nastiest holds in the gym’s selection. Secondly, the whole community thing feels nonexistent. I have seen no one interact with anyone they did not enter the gym with. People seem to roam in pairs or small groups and only talk amongst their established friends; whereas on the east coast and in the dmv area, people who don’t already know each other will work on climbs together and interact with each other. It’d be nice to see the gym work for a cultural change that encourages a little bit more interaction between new people. And last, but not least, the route grading here is wildly inconsistent. I, as someone who has climbed relatively hard on the east coast (not V-double digits, but close on many occasions) and I find that some climbs in my warm up range take 5 or more tries, while others close to my limit take far less. There seems to be an overall style to how this gym sets, and when breaking from that style all sense of how hard a boulder is seems to go with it. On a more positive note, this location has a massive lead area, which as someone who is usually climbing on my home gym’s lead wall is refreshing.

Amazing climbing gym! Very friendly people and a good allround experience. Expertly set bouldering routes, with tons of wall space! Prices are a bit high, with around $30 for a day pass, but this is understandable for the excellent experience!
