Whether it was a problem with the talent or the venue, they didn't open doors until around 8pm, which I believe was an hour late? I understand going to a show and waiting in line to get in but we missed the first (& second?)opener waiting in line outside, waiting for the doors. We were there for Chris Webby and also saw EKOH and Whitney as 2 of the openers. Security going in was a joke. They didn't search anything, just checked ID and ticket. The sound was pretty good and I liked how it was a somewhat intimate experience even with 1,000+ people. Not a great place for handicap accessibility. They were pushing a man in a wheelchair through the large crowd on the floor in front of the stage during the main act. There has to be a better way. There is also nowhere to sit unless you buy $500 bottle service. The performers really made the venue acceptable for me. I don't think I'd come back unless it was an artist I really enjoy.

They filled the building to max capacity and didnt turn the air conditioner on. The crowd was chanting “AC! AC!” I saw atleast 3 people pass out and have to be carried out. Everyone was dripping sweat and irritated. They make you sign a waiver with your ticket purchase that releases them from literally any injury, theft, death etc. and they lean on that heavily. So many dangerous things. Fire alarms dangling by wires, holes in the ceilings. Broken wood splintering on the walls, broken bathroom doors, metal barriers falling over, and worst of all hundreds of humans packed in too small of a space to even breathe. This is not a safe venue environment in more ways than one. We also waited in line outside for an hour after opening time before they even started checking IDs. Everyone was already annoyed before even entering. Lighting is so bad you can’t even see who’s performing. The layout sucks. If your 21+ you get put in a barrier in the middle so goodluck going to the bathroom, you’ll have to push past 400 people to get there and none of them are happy to let you by because it’s so hot and crowded. The snarky comments from the owner on all the low reviews really is the cherry on top. I’d be so embarrassed to have my name attached to this establishment. Then to have the nerve to reply “hope you find what you’re looking for at a different venue” or “this review is a lie” or “that’s a promoter problem not a venue problem” instead of stepping your game up you make excuses. You work hand in hand with the promoters don’t you? And then blame all the bad reviews on them? Every one of my complaints is on the venue and the establishment and I’m not alone. Take some constructive criticism or watch your business go down. Your patrons know how venues are supposed to run, so we have before and WILL again find better at another venue.

Went to the curren$y concert last night. It was a good show but for some reason the management at this venue did not turn on the AC during the 4 hour show. Several people passed out inside the venue. I will not be returning ever again. It was 100 degrees last night. Cheap ass management wants to save a couple dollars by not turning on the AC

Awful!! Dont go here unless you want to end up in the ER. Went to the curren$y concert last night and ended up leaving before he got on stage bc my husband passed out from heat exhaustion. The line for the bar was as long as the line to get in and it looked like only 1 bartender. The crowd was yelling AC while the room filled with smoke. While security helped my husband, 3 or 4 more people were stumbling out from the heat. No one working the event seemed to care about all the people being carried out, we got lucky that security got us water and a chair, everyone else wasn't as lucky.

Came here to see Chris Webby and Echo. GREATNESS FROM ARTISTS… meanwhile total disgust at the venue. Won’t return. Wallet, prescription, and money stolen. When I returned to the venue less than 20 mins after the show, the bouncer was rude and said it was entirely my fault with no respect. Will NEVER RETURN NOT EVEN FOR CHRIS WEBBY OR ECHO CUS IT BE DAT BAYDDDD. How are they still in business???????

The Monarch Theatre’s design and offerings encourage interaction, making it ideal for friends and families seeking a lively and memorable outing. Its large capacity and laid-back, friendly atmosphere allow groups to relax and have fun without feeling cramped or overwhelmed. The venue’s location in downtown Phoenix places it at the heart of city nightlife, surrounded by other bars and restaurants, so it can act as a central meeting point or starting place for a longer night out.

For groups interested in a blend of live entertainment and socializing, the theatre’s range of events—from music to comedy—provides variety, ensuring there is always something on the calendar to suit different tastes. The encompassing live sound and communal feeling foster a shared sense of excitement and enjoyment, perfect for bonding.

On the other hand, the London site—particularly with its immersive dining format—caters to groups looking for an elevated experience combining storytelling, gourmet cuisine, and theatrical sophistication. Its small, intimate dining room space with state-of-the-art projection mapping invites deep engagement and a sense of exclusivity, ideal for celebrating special occasions with close friends or family.

What makes the atmosphere at Monarch Theatre so unique for social gatherings?

One major draw is Monarch Theatre’s ability to transform a simple outing into an experiential event through atmosphere. The Phoenix venue retains a vintage, old-fashioned theater charm that appeals to lovers of arts and music, while its efficient use of modern sound technology creates crystal-clear live performances that can electrify a crowd. This blend of historic ambiance and high-quality audio sets the scene for an authentic night out that is both nostalgic and contemporary.

Conversely, the London Monarch Theatre focuses heavily on immersion and detail. Guests are literally stepped into a different world with secret entrances, moody lighting, and themed decor echoing Gotham’s mystique. Attention to subtle thematic details enhances the feeling of stepping into a narrative, and the careful orchestration of environment, food, and sound creates a holistic experience that deepens group engagement.

Whether you prefer a loud, energetic music night where you can sing and dance with friends or a mysterious, atmospheric dining where you can collectively solve the narrative and savor exquisite flavors, Monarch Theatre tailors the vibe to maximize fun and connection. This ability to offer different yet equally immersive moods is part of why it remains a compelling choice for meetups.

How accessible and accommodating is Monarch Theatre for different groups?

Monarch Theatre’s Phoenix location offers accessibility for large groups with its 700+ capacity and standing-room layout that encourages social interaction. Its age restriction of 21+ ensures a mature crowd, appealing to adults looking for a safe and friendlier environment to unwind. The venue is located downtown with various transportation options, aiding groups in reaching and leaving the site easily.

At the London venue, while the dining room seats only 20, this exclusivity appeals to smaller, intimate groups craving a high-end experience. The theatrical nature of the event means groups can expect to be part of a shared narrative, encouraging conversations and cooperation and making it perfect for friends who want to engage more personally.

Both venues feature professional staff who contribute to a smooth experience—whether by managing event flow, offering expertly crafted drinks, or helping explain or enhance the immersive elements—thus ensuring groups are well looked after.
