I attended a church service that was held here on Easter Sunday. It was quite different at the park. It was a bright sunny and windy with lots of activities happening in the park. There were people having parties and picnics. Others were having a football game and others just came to relax. A nice big park. It also has restrooms. Nice and clean…

My all time favorite park in southbay area. Montgomery-Waller park has been a part of my life growing up in 70s and 80s and during the 90s and 2000s, it’s been my children’s go-to practice park for soccer. Many family events and birthday party celebrations at either the rec center or on the large grass area of park. Looking back, I can honestly say that we didn’t frequent the playground much. No major reason. I like doing my walks at this park during mid mornings. The cemented loop trail, up and down walks, inside the park will give your heart rate a good boost. The open air, fresh breeze and perfect skies, what more can you ask for during any walk. You will seldom see runners on the trail but will sometimes see them on the outskirts of the park. On same note, last week, there was a skateboarder going downwards on the trail, just not sure if this was the appropriate park for the skater since walkers monopolized the trail. The parking lot can get full during sporting events/practices - the worse part. No issues finding parking though, during weekday mornings. Expect a crickety looking parking lot, without parking stall lines. What I didn’t like during my walk was staff driving the lawnmower, did not stop the equipment when myself and friend walked by on the cemented trail. The mower was on the other side of the fence. We could have potentially gotten hurt by flying object(s) that were spurting out from the mower. Glad we had our sunglasses on. Training issue? This park may appear out dated but it’s large, clean and good for walks 👍🏼

This is what a park should be—ample, diverse, and welcoming to the community. The view of the Pacific Ocean at sundown is absolutely magnificent. The park features multiple courts and playing fields, catering to a variety of interests. The recreation center is always buzzing with activities, adding to the lively atmosphere. It's impressively clean, thanks to the dedication of both the staff and the community. Everyone is welcome to gather and enjoy this wonderful space!
