At first I had a small heart attack when I saw they had closed, until I realized Mother Foucault's had in fact just moved, around the corner! Kind of a bummer that Lit Arts opened up right next to them? Like, find a diff block? But their vibes could not be more different, so hopefully they can coexist peacefully. This bookstore has a wonderfully unique curation and I've gone many times to the old location. Can't wait to go to the new spot and show them some love!

The fiction section holds more great books than anyone could devour in a lifetime, almost all used at used prices. I had to cut myself off at Q after my stack had grown to five books. If you’re trying to find something off the current bestseller list, you might, but unlikely. Portland has other bookstores for that.
