This isn't even a gotcha, just the last two days I was there. This place is coasting on a reputation it no longer deserves. Parking, service, equipment. It's all hit and miss: they only care about selling new memberships and collecting dues. They lied about their membership included and you can find -pick a service- offered elsewhere better value for money anywhere else from catering to events to personal training and massage. It's all built on a framework of "we hope you're too new money, and therefore afraid, to notice "

We were at MAC for a volleyball tournament. I have mixed feelings about this location. Lovely to be sure but lacks providing a unique and treasured experience to a general public person. The good: 1. It is a beautiful and huge facility. There was ample signage, very helpful and kind staff. Restrooms were clean and well maintained. 2. There was a bar/grill open, athletes had access to better food choices and options than your typical sugary snack and sugar drinks that other places provide. 3. The courts were all well maintained and offered seating for spectators, some were left standing. 4. MAC provided a healthy lunch for the athletes. The not good: 1. Parking Experience Awful! Parking is off limits to public inside the MAC parking garage, leaving you to street or the paid parking lot options only. If there is an event at Providence Park, which there was that day, the paid parking lots close by shut down by 8am leaving you out of luck and even less options. 2. Confusing Food Guidance. There are no team tent setup options available, MAC guidelines says no outside food/drink, due to the long hours at the facility MAC staff allowed us outside food snacks and drinks for athletes, call/talk to staff to be sure what your options are. 3. The Courts. Were not all setup well. The entrance to one of the set of courts was right into a courts service area and people frequently loitered there and since it was the single entrance was high traffic, it disrupted the game and the athletes performance. And, noisy. I had the most Apple watch above 90 dB noise notifications than any other place we have played. 4. Every single person, athlete to coach to spectator had to fill out a registration to attend form.

This place has everything!! It is clean and wonderful and there’s even restaurants there and swimming pools and climbing rocks My daughter and son-in-law took me as a guest and there’s even a parking garage. You could literally go there every single day and do something different. They also have all kinds of classes

I had the opportunity to visit the Multnomah Athletic Club on a recent visit to Portland. It’s a reciprocal club to The Pacific Club in Honolulu, Oʻahu. Wow what a beautiful facility with so much to do there. While we didn’t have a chance to use the athletic facilities, we did enjoy a wonderful time at their rooftop Bistro before we headed to the Foo Fighters concert. Great food, drinks, very lively atmosphere and friendly service. It was a great experience all around and I can’t wait to visit again on my next trip. 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
PORTLAND REVIEWS
Facility was nice for our company meetings on more than one occasion. However, I looked into membership, which is $7,000, and found it odd that the tax EXEMPT, registered non profit does not offer scholarships to people who are not in their Uber-wealthy stages of life. The club has one main rule, you must be rich; you just have to pay your way in. After finding out that the employees are often horrifically underpaid, to the point that they cannot afford to cover their basic needs, it made no sense for me to pay $7000 into a “nonprofit” that under pays their own support system, their dedicated staff. The MAC Club is registered as a domestic non profit corporation in the state of Oregon.
