Nisei Lounge stands out as a quintessential meet-up spot in Chicago's Wrigleyville neighborhood, celebrated as the area’s oldest continuously operating tavern since 1951. What makes Nisei Lounge a fantastic destination for friends to gather is its authentic dive bar atmosphere that harks back to Chicago’s mid-century history while embracing a welcoming vibe for both longtime regulars and new patrons. The tavern’s dim yet cozy interior offers a relaxed ambiance where seating is almost always available, encouraging lingering conversations over cold pints and classic bar games like pool and darts. It is renowned for its selection of cold beers and straightforward cocktails, operating with a simple yet cherished menu that excludes food but welcomes guests to bring in dishes from nearby eateries such as Cozy Noodles. Great dive bar! This is our go to before and after Cubs games. If you’re looking for an espresso martini and velvet barstools this probably isn’t your vibe. If you have a sense of humor and like cold beer, highly recommend.

This is one of the Nisest dives I’ve been to. It’s hard to resist the magnetic allure of the several Malort signs out front. My friend had been telling me all about the infusions they do for months, and I finally had a chance to swing by. The bartender took good care of us and explained the various Malorts they had going on. The Sporty Malorty was good, but the Shamdy was even better. The beers were cheap and the darts were flying. It was the perfect Sunday afternoon. I’ll definitely be back. Malortmas is real! Update: I usually like coming here for the Malört infusions, but this last time I came they didn’t have ANY! Thus, there was no reason to stay.

A dying breed of dive bar in the heart of Wrigley. It's dirty, it's grungy and the bartender never smiled. Not once. It's the perfect dive! The staff does a great job, and my fellow patrons were very friendly. They have darts, pool tables and a juke box. The music the bartender was playing suited us just fine. You can take in your own food and your dog because they don't have a kitchen! Prices are decent, especially for the area.

Stopped in here after a show at the Newport Theater, it is Christmas everyday when you see their ceiling. Very quirky and comfortable. Staff was wonderful and the bar was clean. During Valentines, they had a sign that said "Romantic Dive Bar" and when we went, it said "we have whiskey" they have a sense of humor which is appreciated.

The bartender gave my Asian woman friend a white mans ID after holding onto it so we could play darts. When we asked for the correct ID, she said that was the only one she had. It was not a busy night and she said she didn't know what could have happened to it and was completely useless and uncaring to her mistake. She said we could look for it behind the bar and didn't help at all. It was in a super obvious spot. Don't trust these people with your ID, they will lose it
