Excellent bar that we used a couple of times while at the Charles Hotel. Excellent selection of drinks, phenomenal service, nice seating and even great selection of small bites.

We recently visited Noir with high hopes, but unfortunately, the food fell well below expectations. We started with the duck drums, which arrived slimy and gray, with a smell that suggested they were far from fresh—more like something straight from the prep table than a finished dish. It was unappetizing and concerning. Next, we tried the flatbread, which was another disappointment. It was topped with what tasted like raw vegetables and pre-packaged Tyson chicken strips. The bacon seemed like it came out of a bag and was overly dry. The whole dish lacked seasoning and flavor—definitely not what you’d expect at a restaurant positioned as elevated dining. That said, the highlight of the evening was the bartender. In stark contrast to the food, they were incredibly hospitable, warm, and attentive. Their professionalism and kindness really stood out and made an otherwise underwhelming experience feel at least somewhat worthwhile. Would we come back? Not for the food—but we might stop by for a drink at the bar and a chat with the bartender.

For a bar in a hotel, their food was surprisingly good. Henrietta’s was already closed and we didn’t want to leave the hotel on a staycation so we tried out the food at Noir and were pleasantly surprised. The blistered tomato flatbread was an explosion of flavors. Their chocolate cake was equally good. We also got some olives, cod cake and tofu buns, which again were pretty decent. We’re not usually a hotel restaurant/bar person but this one we’d gladly keep making exceptions for.

Can you please update your google listing with your correct hours? This wonderful intimate spot used to be open late for a cheeky little nightcap, but lately we’ve been told it’s last call for food AND drink at 9:45.
