Came on a Sunday am in November of the pandemic to take kids skateboarding. There was one other small group of people there and they were far away and super quiet. My only complaints were that there were no bags in the garbage cans and the restroom area was SUPER stinky. But it's a bathroom at a public park, so you know.....

Everything at the park else is fine! The skate park besides the flat bars there. The Skate park is horrible and made with cheap all metal ramps (metal ramps are not great for skating) barely skate able. Remove all the ramps and start over and keep the flat bars.

I have no problem with the setup of this park - several flat bars, a ledge (not ideally placed but fine), and a quarter and bank for flow. It’s great when you want to work on stuff by yourself. HOWEVER, huge beef is that the sprinklers are turned to water the park. Doesn’t matter when I get there, 80% of the time it’s water-filled. It’s stupid, frustrating, and wasteful.

Nice little park, but way too many people smoking blues here. Sand was all over the skate area, and that was annoying. I come here cause I like to skate alone though so that's why I'm giving a generous 3 starts.

How does Nueve Skate Plaza compare to other skate parks in Phoenix and nearby cities?
Nueve Skate Plaza offers a uniquely compact and versatile environment compared to other skate parks in the Phoenix area and beyond. While some skate parks focus predominantly on large bowls or street courses, Nueve balances technical features like quarter pipes and grind rails within an intimate setting that encourages social interaction and observation. Nearby cities may have larger skate parks, but the concentrated nature of Nueve Skate Plaza makes it easier for groups to stick together and engage multiple interests simultaneously. Its location inside Phoenix’s carefully maintained park system also contributes to its cleanliness, safety, and well-kept amenities. For those looking to host group meetups that combine skating with other leisure activities, Nueve Skate Plaza’s balanced design and local government support provide a competitive edge over purely skate-focused venues.
