Great brewery. Large selection with a great variety of beers. Off Color classics like Apex Predator and great new additions. Awesome vending machine with non-food oddities like 1989 Topps baseball card. Wonderful space with indoor and outdoor seating.

If you want a craft brewery with non-typical offerings, Off Color Mousetrap is the place to be. Saisons are front and center here with some excellent Berliner type Weisse beers. If you don't know what I am talking about, this might not be the place for you. If you are adventurous in your craft beer drinking = this is the place! The staff is extremely friendly and the craft beer might be the BEST in Chicago (that is saying a lot because there are many world class craft breweries here). Get over to Off Color Mousetrap and have some excellent craft beers! They also have some wine & cocktails for your non craft beer friends.

Quaint brewery with lots of space that can serve as a great place to relax and meet friends especially on a warm sunny day as they have a lovely outdoor seating area. They have a good selection of beers and I really appreciate their branding of rats and capybaras on their glasses. Service is friendly, but like other breweries in Chicago, they don't serve food. Instead, you can bring food in or order delivery. They do have a few party games one can play

Wish I could give this a 4.5. Honestly best brewery in Chicago when it comes to great tasting and inventive beer that they're always updating. The different type of beer selection is top notch, from IPA's to wheat to Sours, so there's something for everybody. Too many breweries focus on only 1 style of beer. Unfortunately they need more outdoor space, as it's only a few large tables. The bartenders aren't super friendly and seem pretty transitional and this has been consistent through 5+ visits over 5 years. They also have no A/C in the place meaning you're forced to sit inside due to limited outdoor seating but it's miserably hot in the summer. They also don't do flights, unlike every other brewery, for no good reason. In spite of all of this I still recommend this place based on these caveats.

This place was initially put on my radar a while ago by a very earnest and kind post by the owner who discussed making sure his employees still had work through tough financial spots, which I found really cool. After finally getting around to trying it I can say I’m glad it was- the beers were great, loved the yuzu kosho and yuzu blueberry ales, but personal adoration for yuzu aside there were many others that sounded delicious so I’ll need to have another visit soon. They also currently are hosting a pop-up by Five Squared pizza and it’s even more reason to go because that stuff is GOOD… highly recommend the vodka meatball. Thanks for being good people and making great beer, looking forward to my next visit.
