Olga's Kitchen stands out as an inviting destination for friends to gather and enjoy uniquely crafted Greek-American cuisine. Founded in the mid-1960s by Olga Loizon, the restaurant chain began with a vision inspired by authentic Mediterranean flavors, emphasizing their signature "Olga Bread™"—a freshly handmade bread developed to distinguish their sandwiches, famously called "Olgas". The menu highlights slow-cooked meats, fresh vegetables, and fusion seasonings wrapped in their special bread, with beloved staples like The Original Olga®—a hearty sandwich combining a blend of beef and lamb, vine-ripened tomatoes, sweet onions, and creamy Olga Sauce®. Other popular offerings include the Veggie Olga packed with sautéed zucchini, bell peppers, red onion and hummus, the Cuban Olga with pulled pork and ham, and the flavorful Chicken Shawarma Olga. The kitchen also features appetizers like Brussels sprouts and zucchini fries, supporting both vegetarian and meat-eater preferences. With locations primarily across Michigan, Ohio, and Illinois, Olga's Kitchen provides a comfortable dining atmosphere blending fast-casual service with table seating, making it ideal for casual meetups and family gatherings. We went to Olga's on a week night because I had read that they just introduced gluten-free wraps for their Olga sandwiches. I had the traditional Olga, which I hadn't had in YEARS because of the gluten allergy. The wrap itself was tasty, and I was delighted to have an Olga sandwich. Was it as good as I remember their original bread?? Not. Even. Close. But, that's because Olga bread might be the best bread on earth! I also don't want to downplay how grateful I am to have the gluten-free option so I can dine there and get a sandwich. It's wonderful. And, we will be back! I still miss that soft, cushiony bread though! My husband had the chicken shawarma bowl, which he really loved. He said the combination of ingredients was on point!

The Olgas Snackers were a bit undercooked and didn't have a lot of seasoning. Then I had the Three Cheese Olga it was good, but some parts of it were undercooked as well. Also had the seasoned fries, which were a bit cold and had no seasoning at all.

Dropped in for a quick bite at a Michigan favorite. completely redone with a detroit twist. Clean, vibrant and cozy place, honoring Detroit born and bread attire. A nod to its own greek and middle eastern inhabitants. Loved the new zing bowls, chicken schwarma along with the classic snackers. Keep this on your list of favorites.

Ordered our appetizer first. Waited 10 minutes, I asked the waitress if the appetizer have been put in yet, She said no. Took our entree Order. Wait at another ten minutes they brought everything out at once. My lunch companion, Order the chicken shawarma wrap. It was bland and overloaded with sauce. The wrap was so soggy, He had to cut it with a knife and fork just to eat it. Soggy fries. On the plus side, They have added some new menu items. I chose the appetizer with three items. The Boneless wings With the barbecue bourbon sauce was very good. Their peasant soup is always excellent. I don't know if the steak burger was a new item, It was very good and huge. I couldn't finish it. I always have a very good experience every time I come to this restaurant. This time everything just seemed a few beats off. The waitress seemed inexperienced. She didn't ask about what we wanted on the snacker trio, forgot to put it in so I. Guess it was good when I called her over and told her what I wanted on it. I don't know if I will be going back.
