I had the absolute best possible experience taking the inclusive women’s self defense class at One With Heart! I loved everything about this class - the instructors were supportive, welcoming, helpful, knowledgeable, and kind. I feel very much more prepared to handle a terrible situation for having taken this class. It was so much more fun than I thought it would be. Self defense is serious, but this class was so much fun and so informative. I cannot recommend the class or the studio strongly enough. If you’re a femme person, you should take the class. If you know and love a femme person you should tell them to take it. Seriously. Do the thing. It was more than worth it and so awesome.

I've trained here for over six years. All I can say is that it's an amazing place to train and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to learn martial arts. Everyone here is really friendly in my experience and the community is great. The atmosphere is very lgbt+ supporting and just generally very nice. I've felt more confident walking alone since going here because I know how to defend myself if need be. Learning the skills and forms taught here is an amazing experience and I'm always excited to go. Thanks for reading my review.

I’ve trained at One With Heart for 10 years, and the school has been crucial into shaping me into who I am. I began in the after school program (TASP) where I developed discipline and teamwork through training my body. I’ve moved into the evening teen classes, which are physically challenging, and teach practical self defense and weapons training. Recently I had the honor of testing for black belt, which is an amazing experience. This school has an awesome community, and has given me so much confidence in myself throughout the years. I truly cannot recommend this school enough.

Took Women’s/Nonbinary Self Defense and Queer Self Defense here, and both were great! They focused not only on the physical aspects, but the mental and emotional, which was so much more than I’d ever gotten through other programs I tried. They’re very inclusive, family oriented, and just the kindest people! Really good vibes and it’s clear they know their stuff. Highly recommend!

I've been training at One With Heart for 9 years and am in great shape, both mentally and physically. I've really appreciated the support of the community through tough times - our head teacher is caring and compassionate and knows just when to push you with a challenge that will develop your skill and understanding of the art. At this stage I'm really enjoying teaching kids - they bring such joy and enthusiasm!
