Why Orangetheory Fitness is a fun option when searching for things to do near me with friends and family

Orangetheory Fitness stands out as a premier destination for group personal training that is both scientifically designed and coach-led, making it an excellent place to meet up with friends while achieving fitness goals. The workouts revolve around high-intensity interval training (HIIT) that combines cardiovascular and strength training in intervals, all based on the science of excess post-exercise oxygen consumption (EPOC). Participants wear proprietary heart rate monitors that track performance in real time, helping them stay within the optimal target-training zone of 84% to 91% of their maximum heart rate. This approach boosts metabolism and stimulates energy, which translates to effective fat burn and improved cardiovascular health. The classes are dynamic and incorporate a variety of equipment such as treadmills, rowing machines, and free weights, keeping the workouts engaging and diverse. Highly trained coaches lead each session, providing personalized guidance which helps both beginners and experienced exercisers push their limits safely. Beyond the workouts, Orangetheory fosters a community-focused environment that supports motivation and social connection. Flexible class times and inclusive programming make it accessible for people at different fitness levels and schedules. I've been taking classes since Jan 2024, and it's been the best experience ever. Staff are so wonderful & they implemented this new early entry that gives plenty of time to warm up. Plus I get to talk to the coach! Recommended to my friends, and I recommend it to you all. They have a free class, just to try 👍

This branch of orange theory does something annoying every time I try to sign up here. Tricky and dishonest staff: I wasn't allowed to attend the class because I came in 2 minutes too late. I called them as I was trying to park and they didn't tell me about the 5 minute grace policy, and that I would have been too late to attend. So, while the policy is fine, the staff is not transparent and upfront about it. They want to make it as painful as possible. Then they have the audacity to tell me if I come in tomorrow they can't give me a trial class and it would be paid. Then they tell me I can sign up for the membership to forgo the $12 charge for tomorrow's class. Lol, no your branch lost my business, and the business of my friends as well. 👎 Last time someone ran my credit card before I actually SIGNED my membership and this is illegal. I almost feel like submitting them to small claims for this. Difficult Parking: Then, they are in downtown. Parking is difficult. Good luck if you are running late because you can't find parking. PS: Another reviewer complained about Kendall.

Concern Regarding Kendall’s Behavior and Unexpected Charges — Argumentative and Disrespectful I just got off a call with a staff member named Kendall, and I was extremely disappointed by the experience. Her tone was rude and dismissive, as if I was obligated to immediately explain why I couldn’t attend my first free class. To make matters worse, I was unexpectedly charged $14 for not showing up—something that was never mentioned in the promotional email offering the free trial class. When I raised this concern, Kendall responded by arguing and presenting inconsistent justifications, which felt like she was making up policies on the spot. If this is how the company handles first-time customers, it raises serious concerns about transparency and customer service standards. I hope the management takes this seriously and trains staff to be courteous and professional, especially when dealing with new clients. Hidden charges and condescending attitudes are not how you build trust. Very disappointed.

While I understand that OrangeTheory has a 5 minute grace period policy for members showing up to a scheduled class, and I respect this studio’s strictness in members adhering to this policy, I have to say that there are better ways to communicate with members when that 5 minutes is coming up. In my first visit to this studio, I arrived 3 minutes late, checked in within the 5 minute grace period, and went to the restroom before entering the workout room. I was immediately met with a staff member pounding on the bathroom door and yelling through it that I had to be present inside of the workout room as the 5 minutes was coming up. I finished up in the restroom as quickly as I could, as the staff member continued to pound and yell through the restroom door. Upon exiting, this staff member continued to disrespectfully yell at me that members need to be present inside the workout room by the 5 minutes after scheduled start time. Her communication was not effective as her choice of words and her manners made this seem like it were a life-or-death matter. I entered the studio and got on the treadmill at 5 minutes and 43 seconds (there is a timer on the board from when class starts). I admire that this staff member was trying to get me in on time to stay compliant with policy, I’d like to say her approach could have been at least somewhat customer service oriented and cordial (we are adults, not children). I had a great workout with Coach Kelsey and I am glad at least someone mature was there to lead the class and make this visit more pleasant. I would not return as I would not want to risk interacting with the staff member who was yelling at me.
