My son and daughter have both attended Oregon Ballet School. They have attended classes, as well as camps. The curriculum here follows the Royal Academy of Dance and teacher Leslie does a phenomenal job of teaching her students and making sure that they are placed in the correct level. She really puts a lot of thought into her lessons and really helps the students perfect their dancing. Ballet has been fantastic for both of my children. They have built strength, learned how to focus, and have made great friends. Oregon Ballet school is a boutique-style school. The classes are a perfect size for individual attention. The school is also on the MAX and streetcar lines, which is super convenient! I will continue to send my children here, as well as recommend it to parents who are considering it for their children.

As a student of Leslie Baird's from 1977 to 1987, I thrived in the nurturing culture at OBS as she led me successfully through 7 Royal Academy of Dancing exams. She instilled in me a love of the art and discipline, and as an adult I've returned to ballet and enjoy her classes whenever I'm visiting Portland. Ms. Leslie Baird is certified and has decades of experience working with small children & working to take them through the exams the RAD syllabus offers.
