Very nice for beginners of surfing to learn the sport. Definitely recommend taking the two-hour long individual, or small group, surfing lessons taught on the Beach. It's also a wonderful beach for younger swimmers to play in the Ocean. Parking on the street is at a premium though.

Great place to relax, but with limited parking. This is a unknown and quiet park, with people exercising, walking their dogs, and neighbors just passing by. It is very empty and relaxing, with smaller trails along the cliffs to find privacy, if needed. This is a great part to take your dogs on a run or walk. I also see about 30 surfers out, as well, so a good surf spot. There are benches to watch the ocean, as well.

What we love about San Diego is all these beach-parks, perfect for those who are not about the sand and water but love to take in all the beauty of it. We wanted to enjoy the sunshine one weekend afternoon and take our dog to see the water. We typically have our go-to spots to view the water, but we ventured out to Pacific Beach to see what’s up. Very beautiful, breezy and good vibes….one con though is how busy it can get and finding parking was really difficult. It felt really crowded, but outside of that, we enjoyed our time taking in the view and our dog loved it too! Will we go back? Depends on the crowd 🤣, but if you are someone that thrives off of the hustle and bustle, this may be the beach park for you!

Free parking can be found when savvy. Come early and give yourself time to circle on weekends. Dogs ok on beach after 4pm or 6pm depending on time of year. Or before 9am for early birds. Approachable beginner waves to surf. Didn't find ocean too cold in a wetsuit in November. Golden hour is sensational just before sunset if you can swing it.
