The shop assistant was clearly trying to be friendly, but the way he went about it was overly theatrical—more like a performance than actual customer service. He took 15 minutes to serve just three customers who were simply paying for their items—nothing complicated or customized. When I politely asked him to please hurry a little, he replied with exaggerated sarcasm: *"I'm working as fast as I can."* To make matters worse, I had asked him to be a bit more discreet, as I was shopping in secret for a gift for my 10-year-old, who was also in the store at the time. Instead of understanding, he kept talking loudly and dramatically, totally missing the moment. He came off as a bit of a diva, and not in a charming way. A quieter, more thoughtful, and efficient approach would have made all the difference. Unfortunately, I won’t be coming back if this is the level of service to expect.
