You see, back then most bars were slinging the usual suspects: Bud, Miller, Coors, maybe a Heineken if they were feeling fancy. But Peculier came out swinging with a selection of over 300 beers from around the globe, including hard-to-find imports like Tusker from Kenya and Beer Lao from Laos. In a city that hadn’t yet caught the craft beer bug, this was nothing short of a foamy revolution! Thus my beloved Peculiar Pub gained a cult following. This was a pleasant dive bar with plenty of seating. It did get a bit loud, but it's part of the vibe. The drinks are reasonably priced. If you don't see what you like on the chalkboards, just ask, they had more available than written on the boards. My group played a tabletop game and the staff were pleasant and accommodating. (We all were sure to order food and drinks ) I would definitely come back for a laid-back drink or to hang with friends. The bottle cap mosaic art all over the walls was quirky and charming.
