While the food that we did get served was quite good, this was one of the worst dining experiences ever and certainly the worst in Ann Arbor. We were seated but told we may have to eat quickly since there was another reservation in 90 minutes. We ordered drinks and food at once and while 3 of our small plates came out immediately we then waited 45 minutes with no food served and no one checking on us. Our waitress offered to refill our water and change our plates multiple times but never did so. Finally one of our 2 remaining dishes came. When we asked about the fried rice we were told the kitchen is running slow, yet 2 nearby tables that sat down after us were served their fried rice. We finally asked for the check and to take the fried rice off. We were told it may take another 5 minutes and we could take it to go. It does not take over an hour to make fried rice so clearly the order was never put in. Despite this there was no apology and no acknowledgement of an error. In summary, the food is good yet overpriced, but the service is abysmal. The staff carry themselves as if this is a Michelin restaurant, however, it would merely be a terrific food truck. Many of the reviews regarding the service are accurate. We left disappointed and hungry.

From entrance to exit, everything was exquisite. I walked into the restaurant on a 90-degree day feeling humid after work and ready for a refreshing cocktail to meet human gems. Upon entry the temperature was perfectly cool and all guests after uttered the same, “It feels so good in here.” We had a delightful greeting at bar before being seated for a reservation of 5 in comfy subdued teal leather booth. Bartenders and staff were so welcoming, shared all the menu details for some of us newbies, and carried grace throughout the experience. From drinks to small plates, to large plates, dessert digestifs, talented staff, and exceptional friendship banter throughout, I felt special. The drinks were superb. The food was phenomenal. We ordered almost everything. The friendships’ palates and enjoyment will last forever. I shall return next week, on Wine Wednesday, if not before to experience the upstairs. Why is this my first time here?!

Really pretty space and the service was friendly and efficient. Vietnamese food is my comfort food so I should probably not eat Vietnamese-inspired food because I’ll inevitably be disappointed. So take these opinions with that in mind. The atmosphere of this place is great and perfectly good food for when you want to eat something a little different but not toooooo different. The meat on the banh mi bruschetta was tasty but the toast threw me off a little. The papaya salad was a little bland and could have used more beef jerky. The hiramasa and prosciutto was interesting. The Dover sole was tasty and I liked the anchovy dressing. Spare ribs were ok but the texture of the meat was strange like maybe it had been boiled when it should have been grilled. For dessert, we shared the flan and fried rice, both disappointing in texture and way too sweet. Update: I returned and liked it better this time! I tried some things in the menu that weren’t there last time and really enjoyed it. There were a LOT of prawns so definitely share. The beef dish was excellent. The cabbage could have been cooked a little longer. Overall, I recommend this place!
