It’s a cool enough concept, but just know that despite there being no on-premises staff, you are being closely watched the whole time you are there. Someone watching the camera feed decided I was drinking alcohol, when I was in fact drinking a can of iced tea. Creepily, I received a warning days later from their “security team,” confidently accusing me of breaking their rules. After 8-10 messages of back and forth, they offered me $10 credit, which isn’t even enough for 30 minutes of weekend play. The whole thing was creepy and left a bad (non-alcoholic) taste in my mouth. Customer service failed to solve the problem satisfactorily. They will not get any more of my money.

I’ve been to a few table tennis places in Manhattan and this place was the best! It’s very clean and well organized place so it’s easy to visit and safe and fun! You also can get your playing video through the pad on a wall next to your table. It was very nice experience. I will definitely visit again here soon. It was all great!

Pingpod is a fun and social way of upping your pingpong skills while meeting others. My child was in the summer camp option at the Pingpod located on Allen and Hester Sts (they have multiple locations). The summer camp options are flexible; they offer 2 sessions (morning, afternoon) and also all-day. We had a mix of both. Though out my child's time there, I was sent "playback" videos so I could track her progress. I can say that she definitely improved! (You can also book private tables as well, but we didn't do that.) The teachers are friendly and patient. We had Masha as our instructor, and she was very understanding of students with no prior pingpong experience. I was also pleasantly surprised how easy the scheduling was. As a bonus, you can tell that the developers poured a lot of time into the Pingpod app! You can schedule sessions (which you could also do online) to obtain a specific QR code that opens the main entrance door for added safety! Communication between the scheduling and main office (shout out to Julius & Ernesto!) and the students was fantastic-- they often responded within a couple hours. I wished I had heard of the summer camp earlier before I prepaid for other activities but I hear they have an afterschool camp during the school year, so I will check that out! Overall, I'm so happy that there is a fun option for kids and adults here right in Chinatown! Definitely looking forward to our next Pingpod session!
