I have been waiting to try Portillo's for 3 years. I'm so happy I finally got to try them. Now, if you have texture issues, I would recommend not getting every single topping on the hot dog. Maybe get them on the side and try it as you go. All together the flavors are great! But can be overwhelming on the classic hot dog. Great flavors all around. Not too expensive. The place the spacious. Plenty of dine-in space. Had great parking (Their own dedicated parking lot) and even has a drive thru if you're not interested in dine-in or pick up inside. Will definitely return to try their cake shakes I have heard people rave about.

I heard that Portillo’s is a Chicago classic so I felt like I had to try it. The food itself is solid. I ordered a regular chili cheese dog, fries, and the famous chocolate cake shake. The hot dog and fries were fine and the cake shake was pretty good! It feels like it’s more of a novelty thing where the cake shake is just a fun treat to give a try. The restaurant itself is super cool! Really awesome decor that highlights Chicago, especially its sports teams, and just gives a nice vibe and aesthetic. I gave the service three stars because I didn’t really interact with anyone. I walked in, ordered on a kiosk, and then someone called my order number. It’s not bad or anything, but, I can’t really speak to the service since it’s pretty much self service. Cool vibe and experience. Give it a shot if you’re visiting Chicago!

Please help your To Go/Delivery personnel with organization! I placed an app order that I didn't go pick up until 15 minutes after the estimated time and I still waited 20-25 minutes more for my order. They weren't putting anything on the shelves in their respective categories. The line to wait was out of order. Staff appeared lazy & had no sense of urgency to get orders fulfilled. Hardly any teamwork displayed with that section. Usually, I check my bag before leaving but I didn't. Was missing food when I got to my destination!

At Portillo‘s early in the morning, it opens at 6:30. The hashbrowns is twice the amount that you get at Wendy’s for breakfast. I got the sausage and eggs. It is a messy sandwich to pick up. The sandwich is about 3 inches maybe and the sausage takes up most of the bread so the eggs are precariously put on top of the sausage. My sausage had a nice snap to it and a nice little char That I myself particularly like. The coffee is doing its job as a caffeine deliverer. With no additional add-ons good for under nine dollars that’s including tax. The only improvement I could think of I would love to have an Italian beef breakfast sandwich in their breakfast meal combos. Even though yes you could probably order it this early just to have but I want it to be a breakfast combo meal.

Italian beef dip and hotdog were both better than expected. Cake shake too sweet not for me. But for those with a big sweet tooth it's right for them. Service was prompt and workers are working hard. Tables very clean.
