Awesome place to rent outdoor gear, very friendly staff, and very nice, clear gear!! Will definitely be coming back!

Overall great experience. Only thing I thought was funny was returning the gear. I got there 2 minutes early. Was asked to wait inside until 2. Then when they opened said I could just put the gear on the counter. If I could do that than why did I have to wait until 2?

Great service in that they offer gear rentals way below market value. We always try to rent our rafting gear here when it's available. They are very picky though when returning gear, so make sure everything is returned back the way you got it.

customer service is fine and prices and good. Some of the gear needs tlc. Shock cord on my tent was totally stretched. Had to tie the poles together and then untie them when i took down the tent.

If you ever rent a tent or anything that comes in a set from PSU Outdoor Program, make sure to open up everything and check that all the parts are there BEFORE you sign the contract, if they don't have a list of all the parts-make them provide one. I rented a tent from them and took it on a trip, opened the bags for the first time when we set up the tent, and noticed that it was missing one of the rain fly poles. It looked like something was missing when it was all set up but I remember not thinking too much of it, considering that the pole was not for the main structure and the stakes were non-matching, I figured it was a 'get what you get' kind of thing. Forgot to mention this missing pole when the tent was returned, and received a phone call one week AFTER I returned the tent that I had 5 days to pay $50 for this pole. I tried to reason with the employees and manager at PSU, and even had others who were on the trip call to confirm that is was missing and nothing. They had NO understanding of my situation, and referred back to the contract, except for saying that if I had a picture of the tent with the missing pole, they would believe me??? Seriously? Worst customer service experience I have had in my life. I support the outdoor center and understand that they work on a limited budget, I am a student at PSU and I took great care of everything I checked out, even made sure to dry all of the tent parts before returning. Lesson learned I guess.
