Precision Camera is a photographer’s dream come true. I’ve been coming to Precision Camera for over two years now, and I can’t say enough good things. From the very beginning of my photography journey, they’ve been a huge part of my growth—not just as a store, but as a true community. The classes are absolutely top-tier. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to level up, the instructors are incredibly knowledgeable, approachable, and passionate. I always walk away feeling inspired and more confident behind the lens. On the retail side, their staff is just as amazing. I’ve never felt pressured to buy anything—only supported in making the right choices for my goals. They’ve helped me build my kit piece by piece, explaining everything clearly and never making me feel like any question was too small. Between the friendly, expert staff and the high-quality gear and classes, Precision Camera has earned my loyalty 100 times over. If you’re in Austin and even thinking about photography, this is the place to go.

The customer service here is amazing! All of the workers are extremely friendly and welcoming. They have such a diverse selection of camera parts and it is very easy to navigate and understand what you are buying, and if you have questions you can just ask the amazing people who work there!! Everything at this store has such amazing value, even though it may be expensive (all cameras are) you know you are getting the quality that you pay for. They never disappoint, I always recommend this store to my friends trying to get into photography.

A Photographer’s Paradise in South Austin Precision Camera & Video in South Austin is hands-down one of the best camera shops I’ve ever visited. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just getting started in photography, this place has everything you need. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and patient — they’re not just trying to sell you gear; they genuinely want to help you find what’s right for your needs. The selection is impressive, from high-end cameras and lenses to lighting, tripods, bags, and every accessory imaginable. They also carry used gear in excellent condition, which is perfect if you're on a budget but still want quality. One of the standout features is their in-store classes and events. They offer workshops, photowalks, and one-on-one training sessions that are great for building skills and connecting with the photography community in Austin. The service department is also top-notch. I’ve brought gear in for sensor cleanings and small repairs, and the turnaround time was fast and affordable. South Austin needed a store like this, and Precision Camera delivered. Highly recommend stopping by — even if you're not looking to buy something, it's a great place to get inspired and chat with fellow creatives.

My last experience here wasn’t too good.. i felt very uncomfortable because the cashier was very rude and cursing under their breath.. it’s kinda made me not wanna come back.. but I had to because I wanted my negatives… and this time I’m happy to say I had a great experience! A gentleman by the name Carson greeted me as I walked in and made me feel very welcomed! And was a really big help! Great customer service!!
